Lord, take us to church, because it looks like NCIS: Origins golden boy Randy is about to give up on his good guy behavior. Everyone reacts to religion in their own way.
Many viewers are curious about other characters in the show, with Randy being the strongest contender. As much as we’d love to know what happened to Lala, there’s always time for the sweetest guy in the NIS.
“NCIS: Origins” will take viewers to “Our Secret Is Sick” Sunday service. It’s a very fitting episode title, and it raises some very strong possibilities.
At this point in the show, viewers can expect each episode to feature multiple heartbreaking scenes with one character or another.
So, get your tissues ready because I doubt NCIS: Origins Season 1 Episode 8 will be any different.
One thing that can be said for sure about NCIS: Origins is that it’s an emotionally intelligent series that’s not afraid to honestly portray male vulnerability and allow yourself to feel your feelings.
NCIS: Origins Survives on Prayer
From the promotional video, we can first see that the case will have a strong religious element. Fortunately, this isn’t the first time Franks and his team have rodeoed with activists.
Many viewers may remember NCIS: Origins Season 1 Episode 5, “Last Rites,” when the team tried to recover the victim’s body.
If you remember correctly, the killer murdered many people and buried everyone according to their religious beliefs. This might actually be well thought out if not for all the homicides.
Regardless, the team has dabbled with murderous church members, and it looks like they’ll be the better for it.
When you watch the promo for Sick Like Us, you immediately notice all the depictions of Catholicism in churches. The clip really pushes the religious angle.
Wherever there is a Catholic church, there will be a priest, also known as a confessional.
Randy steps out of the shadows and into the crossfire
At the start of the promo, you can hear Gibbs (Austin Stowell) asking one of the show’s characters, “The killer confessed to you, didn’t he?” The character replies, “Yes.”
Although the currently unknown character is dressed in ordinary clothes, from the context, we can speculate that he is likely to be a priest. The word “confession” makes this theory even more popular.
Next, we hear Randy Sr. say to what may be the same character, “You’re not going to be safe unless we catch this guy.” It sounds like Gibbs and Randy will be discussing protection details in the next episode.
I’m not mad about it either, because Randy is my third favorite character after Mary Jo and Franks. His positive attitude and sunny personality are so cute.
In NCIS: Origins Season 1 Episode 7, we learn that Randy has a wife and child. This guy has an entire family and we just found out. It’s an odd choice for the writers to make, but there’s a lot of world-building involved.
It would be nice to see more layers and sides to the cutest guy in the precinct.
‘NCIS: Origins’ Features a Bevy of Butt-Kicking Characters We Love to See Victory
It looks like we won’t have to wait too long, as the final minutes of the promo for NCIS: Origins Season 1 Episode 8 show Randy fighting in a tank top.
Listen, NIS agents are expected to hold their ground in combat. God knows Lala, despite how irritating the character is, she was awesome in NCIS: Origins Season 1 Episode 6 and she was wearing formal attire and high heels.
Which begs the question: When will we see Mary Jo kick off her heels and teach someone a lesson? You know she’s going to have something smart to say with every hit.
Still, it’s nice to see Randy’s tougher side. This guy got into law enforcement for a reason, and I feel like he’s very protective.
Also, who knew Randy had muscles hidden beneath his bright smile? This man is simply full of secrets. The episode’s title does more than we might think.
Viewers watch cases in ‘NCIS: Origins’ but still focus on characters
The official synopsis for NCIS: Origins Season 1, Episode 8 reads: “Gibbs and the team investigate the case of a Navy chaplain who was killed in a confessional and may have been the wrongful target. .
“Meanwhile, Randy shows Gibbs tips on how to be protective when dealing with personal situations.” Okay, there’s a little confusion here.
In the promo, Gibbs is talking to a priest, and at one point Randy, played by Caleb Foote (Magnum PI), can be heard saying, “Father Bobby?” Well, from the synopsis and promo What can we infer from this?
We know there is at least one priest, but could there be more than one? Did the priest contact the NIS about what he admitted?
If that’s the case, obviously protective details weren’t taken. Or that the murderer murdered a priest and then confessed the crime to another priest? Suffice it to say the trailer editing does its job.
No matter the circumstances of the case, there is no doubt that it will be heartbreaking in some form. Ever since the premiere of NCIS: Origins’ first season, the show has kept emotions running high.
However, it was the part of the description that mentioned Randy “struggled with a personal situation” that caught my attention the most.
Granted, this could mean anything. This could be a really serious situation, or it could be something more adventurous, like Randy wanting Gibbs’ advice on how to woo his wife.
One of the great things about “NCIS: Origins” is that it keeps the audience on their toes. While many viewers have differing opinions on whether the show is anything like the NCIS show, everyone agrees that the writing and acting are excellent.
NCIS: Origins leaves a little to be desired when it comes to character development, but it’s moving in the right direction. If Randy gets an episode about his backstory, it’s only a matter of time before Mary Jo gets hers.
While this is all beautiful and pure, we hope the writers have some big plans for Lala, as this is another character that many viewers can agree on, but not in a good way.
This may be a Gibbs and Franks show, but those boys have to make room for Randy’s sweaty and smoldering side. Check out the promo for CBS’ NCIS: Origins Season 1, Episode 8 below!
