Depeche Mode fans may need to enjoy some quiet time, with frontman Dave Gahan noting that new music isn’t the band’s top priority right now.
Gaghan made the remarks in a recent interview New ME He has reflected on the late musician Mark Lanegan’s death ahead of his 60th birthday celebrations in London.
Lanegan, who died in February 2022, rose to fame as a member of alternative rock band Screaming Trees before joining Queens of the Stone Age in the early ’00s. Depeche Mode concluded their Memento Mori world tour in April, playing 112 shows around the world in support of the 2023 festival memento mori – their first new album in six years. The album and tour are the band’s first since the death of co-founder keyboardist Andy Fletcher in 2022.
