Noah Baker is ready to take on more challenges beyond social media.
The TikTok star recently made her film debut in Tubi On the sidelines: The Quarterback and Merecently opened people Magazine talks about moving from content creation to acting and how he hopes to expand his career in Hollywood.
Before making a splash on TikTok in 2020, Baker actually had another dream. “Professional football is Plan A, there’s really no Plan B…Growing up, I didn’t really know anything other than what I wanted to do,” he admitted.
However, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and soon followed on TikTok, Baker ended up dropping out of the University of Portland, where he played D1 football and launched a successful career in social media. But even after gaining more than 33 million fans on the short-form video platform, he began looking for new challenges.
It was then, Baker said, that the show began to emerge, despite “knowing nothing about it” and having to “start from scratch.” He first had a cameo role in a Disney film Duji Cameloha, MD Before playing star football player Drayton Lahey Quarterback: Quarterback and Mepremiering on Tubi on November 29th.
Looking to the future, Baker said of his social media career that he hopes to have more acting roles, “I think one day I won’t become so dependent on it and I won’t feel like I need to stay relevant, To keep up the views, if you will…the paycheck keeps growing.
While Baker likes that “you’re your own boss” when it comes to making a living from full-time content creation, he says, “Sometimes, [it] It might be a little tiring.
“With a show, you’re checking in and you’re checking out,” he explains. “It’s a job…I like the idea of having that structure.”
However, Baker’s ideal future is “the best of both worlds,” adding, “I’d love to continue working as an actor while having the fun of social media.”
