To say I’m a Scrubs fan would be the understatement of the century.
My love/obsession with this series started shortly after I lost someone close to me. My sister bought me the Season 4 DVD to distract me and I quickly watched every episode so many times that I could recite them. Then, I went back to the first season of Anatomy to catch up.
I still quote lines from the show to myself sometimes, have a collection of NBC favorites from all seven seasons, and have a crush on T-Mobile’s Zach Braff and Donald Faison I’m excited to work on a commercial, but I’m not sure about a reboot of Anatomy.
The original Scrubs had a perfect ending, then was updated
I preferred the earlier seasons when Turk and JD were interns rather than residents, but the Anatomy Season 8 finale was the perfect ending to the show.
JD decides to leave the hospital to find someone closer to his son, but before he does, he has one last fantasy montage that could be a time-jump ending before these montages became popular.
JD: Who’s to say that’s not what actually happened? Who’s to say my fantasy won’t come true this time?
Although I’m sad to see Scrubs go, it was so perfect that it didn’t need anything else.
Then it was renewed for a ninth season, which was so terrible that I could only stand the first half of the episodes – and I was obsessed with the original! (It also apparently airs on ABC, and the Anatomy reboot will air as well, but I forgot about that too.)
The terrible new episode feels like a quasi-reboot, not only ruining a great series finale but also trying to make The Internship without JD. no thanks!
I’m afraid the Scrubs reboot will be just as bad. I don’t want to ruin my memory of this special with unnecessary attempts at reconstruction, thank you.
What will the reboot of “The Anatomy” be about?
According to Deadline , the proposed new show will once again star the talents of Zach Braff, Donald Faison, John C. McKinley, and Sarah Chalke.
In other words, JD and other original characters will return. (No mention of the janitor, however.)
So hopefully, without JD, we won’t get Scrubs, but what exactly will we get?
Scrooge’s initial charm comes as the baby-faced J.D. and a group of other new doctors try to learn how to do their jobs, including navigating a complicated relationship with Dr. Cox and Dr. Kelso, two doctors with powerful End your career.
JD’s ridiculous fantasies, insecurities, obsession with Elliot, and near-total admiration for Dr. Cox all make sense because he’s at the beginning of his career.
Zach Braff is now approaching 50 years old and JD’s career should be solid. Dr. Cox should be close to retirement, if not retirement. So, what kind of premise do we get that makes sense?
The insecurities and idolization shown by JD in the original are unlikable for a middle-aged man.
Plus, he should have a family by now and his son should be around the same age as when Scrubs started, so please don’t tell me that JD hasn’t changed at all over the years.
I want to be excited about an Anatomy reboot, but there’s no point if it’s an attempt to recreate something that already has a longer season than it deserves.
Anatomy fanatics, what do you think? Did I miss something? Even though it doesn’t seem feasible, would a reboot of “The Anatomy” be exciting?
