It may be cold outside in much of the country, but after the emotions of this event, we’re feeling overheated.
Fire Nation Season 3 Episode 7 Recap discusses Camden Casey’s final appearance, the aftermath of Bode and Gabriella’s breakup, the passion brewing between Bode and new single Audrey, and All the tension under the roof of Station 42.
When a hostage situation at a weed dispensary turns into a roaring smoke fest for Snoop Dogg and Willie Nelson, our favorite fire cadets steal the show.
Fire Nation Season 3 Episode 7 was the last we saw with Captain Camden Casey (Jared Padalecki), and it left a dark feeling.
We know he’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. In fact, everyone seemed to hate him.
Vince vouched for him at first, but his feelings changed drastically after The Eagle Sanctuary in Fire Nation Season 3 Episode 6.
Sharon hated him because he tried to force Bode to be the best, even if it meant breaking rules and ignoring orders. Until this happened to him.
Interestingly, Camden defied Bode in Fire Nation Season 3 Episode 6 by choosing to stay at Station 42 to save Kitty instead of returning to the firehouse as ordered by Casey.
Bode refused to obey orders and was therefore unable to graduate. Throughout the entire incident, Bode acted as if it was his last day.
Tell us what you think of Casey’s behavior. Is he correct in thinking that Bode’s failure to obey an officer’s orders during the Eagle’s Nest fire set him up for failure? Or is Bode right to follow the orders of his superiors, even if it’s his father?
Instead of apologizing for not following the rules, Bode leans into his rebellion and uses it to prove to Casey that he should be a firefighter.
Casey is just as reckless as Bode—if not worse.
Ironically, Baldur usually does risky and heroic things, putting his life – and often others – in danger.
Are Camden and Border the heroes who save the world by taking guns away from the bad guys? Or did Camden’s actions escalate the situation into a dangerous fire hazard?
When the robber noticed Audrey trying to get her phone, he had already shot her. He was desperate. They know who he is.
If the bullet doesn’t hit the butane tank, it won’t start a fire. But the fire allowed everyone to escape. After being disappointed by the initial false alarm, it allowed Station 42 to return to the scene and take action.
Camden’s brief absence during the call showed cracks in his armor. Vince said Casey had demons he needed to face, and he was right.
Camden has unanswered questions. We’re crossing our fingers that we’ll get to explore them further in the Fire Nation: Surfside spinoff, starring Captain Casey and returning to the non-woods of Southern California.
It’s time to say what you think of this irascible Southern California fire chief. Do you like him or hate him?
Personal feelings aside, he did a great job establishing Bode and Audrey as rising stars at CFD Station 42.
Gabriella and Jack hook up again. Called it!
Jack had been hesitant to move on. But now that he has lost Genevieve forever, he is trapped in a aimless struggle. Gabriella was familiar, but there were always unresolved feelings lurking beneath the surface.
The episode ends with him angry at Vince, but should he be angry? Maybe if Gene had taken Vince’s advice, he wouldn’t have decided to leave Jack and move in with her biological father.
Now that mom and grandparents are gone, wouldn’t it be best for her to be with her siblings and dad? Jack’s career is not safe.
Audrey, who is now single, shared an intimate celebratory meal with Bode and the heat between the two was enough to spark a five-alarm fire.
We must admit that she is a bad woman. She was shot in the arm without complaint, yet still returned to a burning store (probably more weed smoke than fire smoke) to save the life of the man who shot her.
But how will Gabriella react when she discovers that Bode has become blonder and more awesome? With Bode gone, will she start using Jack to feed her addiction?
How far will Gabriella sink before she realizes she’s embarked on a path of self-punishment?
Things have been going downhill for her since Fire Nation Season 3 began. I’m probably going to get hate for this, but she’s been on a downward spiral ever since she gave up on her dream of scuba diving in Fire Nation Season 1.
She makes decisions based on a wave of emotion and reckless behavior, often ending up with the wrong choice.
After a devastating breakup in Fire Nation Season 3 Episode 6, she spent some drunken time with Casey. Who believes his claims to Vince and Sharon that nothing happened?
She then jumped off a cliff, injuring her shoulder, then lied about why. Was Sharon right to pursue Gabriella so harshly for her erratic behavior?
How about violating Gabriella’s privacy by entering the Airstream without permission? I said Sharon had all the rights in the world to get in there. First of all, it’s her property. Second, it’s parked inside a fire station. Third, things are not going well for Gab.
And now, she was pushing away anyone who could influence her enough to stay away from the wounds she had inflicted.
From inside the trailer and Gabriella’s outburst before Sharon loses her temper to her hissing outburst, anyone who’s been there knows she’s close to rock bottom.
She learned from the best how to lash out at those closest to her.
Manny spends most of the episode furious, first with Sharon because he feels guilty for not helping Gabriella. Eve then asks Sanyan to serve prison food at Bode’s graduation ceremony.
Granted, there were other cadets (several women) who received diplomas from Captain Casey, but the crowd came for the 24k – and, let’s be honest, James West.
The graduation ceremony was a great way to end Kathy’s time on the show. It was so fun to watch him yell “Sanyan”. Most people wouldn’t recognize a fire department made up of prisoners.
Camden is right about one thing. At Station 42, the lines between personal and professional are blurred. Vince and Sharon work to separate family and work with a group of firefighters they have adopted, which now includes former inmate Audrey James.
Today, helicopter parenting of non-biological children has turned the job into a tense minefield of resentments and transgressions.
Has anyone else noticed the controversial trend in this issue’s rankings? It seems that every boss has some pretty heated exchanges with his subordinates.
Sharon and Gabriella. Sharon and Manny. Eve and Manny. Vince and Jack. Camden and Broad.
That’s a lot of unpleasantness for one episode. What do you think, fanatics?
Enough drama to keep things interesting? Or so much drama that it turns into an action-packed soap opera?
Speaking of action, let’s hear your thoughts on emergency calls this week. What was supposed to be a false fire alarm turned out to be a hostage situation.
What do you think of the way the show introduces Captain Casey? Does he have enough potential to earn derivatives? The writers are doing a much better job preparing the series than they have been on Sheriff Country, which will air on CBS in 2025.
Hostage seemed like the perfect time to bring back Mickey Fox. However, this is not the scenario where a Station 42 firefighter was held at gunpoint without police intervention.
We know Mickey will be returning to Fire Nation before it goes on hiatus in the fall, so that’s exciting.
