It shouldn’t have to wait for Days of Our Lives to have its funeral for us to cut through the bullshit and get back to what made the soap amazing for over half a century, but here we are.
Now that Doug’s memorial service is behind him and most of the classic characters are gone, we’re back to dealing with Clyde Weston, not to mention the manipulation of Johnny’s one-night stand with Joey and E.J. .
There is one bright spot, though. Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9/12/24 predict that Steve and Kayla will take a trip down memory lane to learn more about Hope before she leaves and potentially becomes Sean’s permanent stay reasons.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9/12/24 reveal foreseeable dangers for the couple who defeat Clyde
It’s not hard to figure out where Clyde’s betrayal is going.
If this storyline didn’t involve JJ, I might not be so annoyed. My favorite character is finally back but I can’t enjoy it because his storyline is so ridiculous.
Not as bad as the time JJ and Eve slept together. There is no questionable consent here.
Instead, JJ missed Doug’s funeral and was barely aware of his death because he didn’t answer six of Jennifer’s phone calls. Why?
He and Gabby share a bed “as friends,” so it’s not hard to guess where that bed will go.
They pretend to be Chad and Abigail so they can act as bait for Clyde’s goons, and to everyone’s surprise, Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of December 9, 2020 say , JJ must save Gabby from danger.
Casey Moss and Cherie Jimenez brought their best, but the storyline was far below them.
My favorite part so far is JJ’s reaction after hearing the news of Doug’s death and his sadness that they now can’t play music together at Christmas.
I’m glad JJ finally got his musical spirit back – some other writer wrote about his passion for guitar for no reason the last time they saw fit and gave him a character-ruining story – but I’d rather More sadness, less sadness.
I have a hard time believing Clyde is a supervillain because he looks like a parody of the selfish idiot Beth Dutton from Yellowstone always had for lunch.
Also, JJ was the only one who could take down Clyde, and did it as a teenager – did the writers forget that?
Meanwhile, at the seedy motel across the street (yes, really!), Kate will seek comfort from Chad, and the two of them will be in danger.
I was surprised the second time.
The two of them hate each other (or, at least, Chad doesn’t want to hang out with Kate anymore!), but there’s only one bed in the room, and Chad insists on sleeping on the floor so she can be comfortable.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9/12/24 don’t reveal how soon the two end up sharing a bed, but come on.
It’s bound to happen sooner or later, especially if they’re either held hostage or realize they both nearly died at the hands of Clyde’s thugs.
Meanwhile, Kate will be disturbed by the possibility of her mother’s death.
Does she have evidence that Clyde was actually holding Mom in the first place?
Also, the whole plan he forced her into involved Kate supporting his lie that Abigail was alive, so why wouldn’t she think he lied about her mother’s death?
It’s hard to feel any sympathy for Kate when she can cut it off by asking someone for help.
I can understand her not wanting to rely on the Keystone police in Salem, but she could have told Chad the truth from the beginning so they could team up to take out Clyde, like they are doing now, but less Unnecessary drama.
Days of Our Lives to EJ: You won’t get it!
As annoying as the Joey/Johnny/Chanel mess is, I’m glad EJ’s plan could blow up in his face.
Alex told Joey, “EJ is the DA.” I laughed so hard. He can’t go around blackmailing and bullying others.
Oh, how I wish being a district attorney meant someone’s morals were impeccable.
However, Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9/12/24 promise that EJ will get some upcoming stuff, and I can’t wait!
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9/12/24 say Kate will put EJ in trouble for breaking Joey’s contract (really, does EJ think Kate won’t find out anything fishy?)
EJ’s showdown with Kate should be interesting, but I’m really looking forward to EJ finally facing the fact that he brought it upon himself.
If you watched Friday’s episode, you know that Chanel walked in on Alex and Johnny screaming at each other and she was determined to find out what was going on.
The men argue because Alex doesn’t like Johnny and his father ran Joey out of town and wants to replace Johnny as director.
Of course, when Chanel walks in, Alex is yelling that he’ll never tell her what Johnny did, but that’s just because he cares so much about Chanel.
Please, please, please, let this be how she learns that Johnny slept with Joey.
This was perfect timing because she had just told Lani that she was grateful that their previous issue was a big misunderstanding and she wouldn’t have been able to handle it if Johnny had cheated on her during the chaos.
Predictable? Yes. But oh, karma can be so delicious!
Plus, this annoying storyline will be over. It would be a sweet bonus if Chanel gave Johnny greater responsibility than Joey and maintained a friendship with her, but I wouldn’t dare dream of that.
Now for the good stuff: hope is still around for a while
Cristan Alfonso was unable to attend the funeral scene due to a scheduling conflict, but at least she’ll be on set a little longer.
So far, Hope’s return has been perfect (except Bo is still in a coma, but future Days of Our Lives spoilers promise he’ll be back in May, so we’ll just have to be patient a little longer!)
She meets Julie and “Doug III” (or whoever the jewelry thief and conman really is), bids a tearful farewell at Doug’s grave, asks Jennifer to keep an eye out for trouble with this mysterious stranger, and shares with Ciara Tears and Sean.
Now, Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9/12/24 promise that Hope will spend some time with Steve, Keira, and Roman.
Aside from the silly story about Steve and Hope having microchips in their heads that made them think they were Princess Stefano and Gina, I always loved the scenes these two shared.
Keep in mind that Steve is also a private eye, so Hope may also be telling him about her concerns about Julie’s alleged new grandchild to further help uncover the truth.
Steve and Kayla finally get to be together
Days of Our Lives seems to have forgotten that Steve and Kayla are also a classic couple.
Recently, Kayla was in the hospital while Steve went about his own business, rather than the two spending any time together.
Luckily, Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9/12/24 promise that Steve and Kayla will take a trip down memory lane.
They also visit Hope, so these flashbacks may allow Doug to grieve or remember Beau at his best in order to give Hope hope.
Anyway, it’s nice to finally get to spend some time with Steve and Kayla! It doesn’t make up for Clyde’s nonsense, but it comes close.
Additionally, while Hope won’t stay long term, Sean probably will.
Jada is ready to give him his old job back.
Not only would it give him a reason to stay in Salem, but it would also force him to interact with Belle on a regular basis if she stayed too and reestablished herself as one of Salem’s most prominent defense attorneys.
