Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy could be heading in a more sinister direction for Valentine’s Day next year. In the trailer from Apple Films, the two actors find themselves assigned to a hellish outpost. canyonreleased Saturday.
According to the film’s synopsis, Taylor and Taylor-Joy play two highly trained agents assigned to guard towers on either side of a massive and highly classified canyon. Their mission? “Protect the world from the undisclosed mysterious evil that lurks within it.”
Although initially told not to communicate, the two guards read notes through high-powered binoculars and established a connection at a distance. “When a catastrophic threat to humanity is revealed before them, they must work together to test their physical and mental strength to keep the canyon’s secrets before it’s too late.”
Teller and Taylor-Joy celebrated the trailer’s release on Saturday at CCXP/Brazilian Comic Con. The footage shows a cold, dark wilderness divided by a wide canyon with no bottom visible. “What’s the truth about this place?” Teller asks in the trailer. “What’s the truth about the canyon?”
canyon Directed by Scott Derrickson and written by Zach Dean. Sigourney Weaver rounds out the main cast. Producers include Skydance Media’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger, as well as Crooked Highway’s Scott Derrickson, C. Robert Cargill and Sherryl Clark, and Adam Kolbrenner, Zach Dean and Gregory Goodman. Apple Original Films and Skydance Media are studios; Taylor is executive producer.
The movie will premiere on Apple TV+ on February 14, 2025.
