Giancarlo Esposito, Harold Perrineau, Taryn Manning and Ryan Hurst join the cast The wolves are outis an independent drama film that marks the directorial debut of producer Danny Peikoff.
The film is currently filming in Portland, Oregon and stars Orlando Norman and Spencer Moore II, as well as Heidi Grace Engelman and Cassady McLincy Chang. Sam Reckner, Sim Mulholland and Curran Waters are also on the list.
Set against the backdrop of the East Bay punk music scene of the mid-1990s, Wolves This is a story of courage and dreams in a world filled with violence and despair. Norman, Moore, Engerman and Chang play a tight-knit group of high school friends who dream of escaping the run-down city they live in.
Esposito plays a ruthless, sadistic mid-level boss with a smooth attitude and a killer smile, while Perrineau plays Moore’s father, who pins all his hopes and dreams on his son’s burgeoning baseball career.
Manning is Norman’s mother, a woman who never wanted children and always hid her children. Hearst was a homeless man who had many addictions but also had prophetic insights.
The show was inspired by punk rock band Rancid’s 1995 album of the same name and was created by Peykoff, Jason and Jamie Neese (The Umbrella Academy).
Brothers Peikoff and Ness are producing Wolvesand Glenn Kleczkowski and Paul Hadad.
Esposito is best known for his villainous role in AMC’s critically acclaimed series breaking Bad and Better call Saul. He also appears in the Star Wars series The Mandalorian. On the film front, Esposito appears this year in Ford Coppola’s sci-fi epic MegacityA24’s Maggie Xin and Universal Pictures’ monster thriller Abigail. He next plays a villain in a Marvel Studios film Captain America: Brave New Worldreleased on February 14, 2025.

Manning, whose credits include 8 miles and bustle and flowIn recent years, has been spending time in television, appearing in shows such as Orange is the new black and Hawaii Five-O.
