Dune: Part 2 Director Denis Villeneuve will receive the Visionary Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, the company announced Wednesday.
The awards ceremony will be held on January 3 and the award ceremony will be held from January 2 to January 13.

We are honored to honor Denis Villeneuve with the Vision Award.
The Vision Award “is given to filmmakers who push the boundaries of the art of cinema,” the organization said. Previous winners include Alfonso Cuarón (Romans) and Michelle Hazanavicius (artist), Oscar-winning Best Director Richard Linklater (boyhood), Tom McCarthy (spotlight), Martin Scorsese (irish) and Quentin Tarantino (Inglourious Basterds), for which he subsequently received an Academy Award nomination.
Villeneuve joins previously announced recipients Adrien Brody (Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actor), Timothee Chalamet (Chairman’s Award), secret meeting (Ensemble Performance Award), Kieran Culkin (Breakthrough Performance Award, Actor), Colman Domingo (Spotlight Award, Actor), Ariana Grande (Rising Star Award), Angelina Jolie (Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress), Nicole Kidman (International Star Award), McGee Madison (Breakthrough Performance Award, Actress) and emilia perez (Pioneer Award).
Villeneuve’s dune Winner of six Academy Awards, five BAFTA Awards, three Critics’ Choice Awards and nominations from the Producers Guild of America, Directors Guild and Writers Guild. His other directorial credits include Blade Runner 2049, arrive, sicario, prisoner and fire.
