Billie Eilish is currently touring arenas and stadiums, but she’s also making time to hit smaller venues—you might say, tiny venues.
The 22-year-old superstar appeared on NPR on Thursday (December 12) small table The web series, available on YouTube, sees Eilish, her brother and producer Finneas and several band members squeeze into the show’s iconic office space to perform four songs. She started with two of her favorite songs from her recent album, Hit me hard, hit me softly: “The Greatest” and “L’Amour de Ma Vie,” both of which she adopted a gentler voice to match the intimacy of the room.
“It’s very nerve-wracking,” she told a crowd gathered at NPR’s offices in Washington, D.C., during a break. “This is so cool. I’ve wanted to do this my whole life, so I’m kind of shaken.
The two-time Oscar winner then surprised fans by pulling out one of her older deep cuts and crooning “I Love You” from her Billboard 200-topping debut LP. When we all fall asleep, where do we go? The performance comes as Eilish prepares to wrap up the North American leg of her Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour, which kicked off in late September. Following a five-night performance at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on December 21, the singer will head to Europe and Australia for a series of dates in February.
