SoundCloud general counsel and chief diversity officer Antonious Porch is leaving the music streaming service.
SoundCloud has confirmed that Porch will be leaving the company on January 3rd. Condé Nast as its new general counsel February.
SoundCloud also confirmed that the Berlin-based company will replace Porch as general counsel Amma Walton, Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, has been promoted to Executive Vice President and General Counsel.
Porch joined SoundCloud in 2018.
Prior to joining SoundCloud, Porch served as general counsel for Shazam, which was sold to Apple in 2017 for $400 million.

Prior to joining Shazam, Porch spent more than a decade at global media company Viacom, where he served as senior vice president and deputy general counsel at Nickelodeon and vice president of technology and children’s compliance and senior legal counsel in Viacom’s corporate offices.
Earlier in his career, he worked at Classic Media (now DreamWorks Classics, part of NBCUniversal) and the law firms of Latham & Watkins and Morrison & Foerster.
As general counsel for Condé Nast, he will oversee all legal, business matters, policy and compliance matters, while also serving as corporate secretary.
Porch received his bachelor’s degree from Yale University and his juris doctorate from Columbia Law School. He is a board member of GLAAD and the International Association of Radio and Television Foundation.

“Since joining SoundCloud in 2021, Walton has played a key role in the launch of fan-supported royalties in 2021, including global licensing deals with Warner Music Group and Merlin,” Greenberg added.
Walton previously served on the BMG Rights Management Executive Committee as global general counsel and chief human resources officer (CHRO).
Prior to joining BMG, Walton served as Managing Director of the music division of Constantin Film AG and as a member of the German management team of EMI Music, where he also served as the company’s lead attorney.
Walton is a member of the Supervisory Board of the Erich Pommer Insititue and a member of the SoundCloud Senior Leadership Team. The executive graduated from the Ludwig Maximilian Law School in Munich and King’s College London.
Porch’s departure from SoundCloud follows news in March that the platform’s former chief content officer Tracey Chenhas resigned from his position and joined the Australian-born artificial intelligence music company splash As CEO.global music business
