Feigal (Barry Ward) and Houlihan (Sade Graham) interviewed Eva about the money Grace (Anne-Marie Duff) had withdrawn, but Feigal still felt guilty because The ex-wife was distraught when she took her daughter to live in Australia. Houlihan gets better at the interview questions and discovers that Ian lied about his encounter with Grace. Ian told investigators they met online, but Eva revealed it was through a bereavement group after Ian lost his sister. Feigl gives Houlihan a great idea to bring Ian Grace into play, catching him off guard, but then he becomes obsessed with his own personal life.
Eva receives a birthday gift from Grace. This is a karaoke machine with instructions for playing song 42. Eva called the sisters over and recounted all the ways Angelica could connect them to JP’s death. They agreed to let Angelica scatter Grace’s ashes. Well, not actual ashes, but what was left of Eva’s fireplace.

Angelica decides to scatter Grace’s ashes in the sea and suggests spending the day with pancakes and flasks. Becca said she could use a boat, and Angelica’s final instructions were to keep Brannaird (Seth Quinn), Ian or Eva out of the outing. Angelica said she felt Eva had failed to respect Grace’s memory and that her relationship with Ian was inappropriate. While her timing was terrible, she wasn’t wrong. Eva insists nothing happened, but… there was chemistry.
Ian was surprised by the effect Houlihan had on Grace and asked some other questions. She found a photo of Ian with a woman he said was his sister Colleen, who died in Canada. I’m getting stronger and stronger: the “I have a girlfriend in Canada, but you won’t know her” feeling. Houlihan discovered that he had lied about attending Angelica Collins’ bereavement group. He does describe Angelica “feeding off your sorrow” well. Everyone is dropping misleading truth bombs. Ian claimed that he had no knowledge of the $20,000 withdrawal.
I’m not sure how many more scenes I could have shot about Feigl and his personal life. I get it; he’s obsessed, and it’s to the detriment of his professional abilities. Is he willing to do anything to make them pay? Never trust a character who says to another person, “I’ll fix it, I promise.”
Speaking of false promises, Ian gives Eva new slippers and tells her he won’t leave her alone, but also admits he told Angelica not to bother the Garvey sisters, so Eva assumes his motives are family-driven. The two acting as surrogate parents must have confused Brannide, who continued to defy Eva and said, “I’ll do what I want” in response to Eva telling her not to go to Angeli after school stuck place. Ian accidentally reveals that the sisters are throwing a surprise party for Eva. Just what the situation called for.
We do get to see a great scene between Becca and Bibi, who are shopping for supplies for a party. I could watch these two joking around all day. They picked out a shortbread tin at the party store for Grace’s urn and you can see their love.
Back to Feigl (my attention is starting to wander…), he consulted an attorney to fight for custody and was told that he would be given a lot of money to fight for custody. The whole family is together, and Eva is dressed a bit like Ariel from The Little Mermaid. It seems like a typical get-together until Roger (Michael Smiley) shows up with oysters and asks Eva out. Really, Roger, the whole Garvey family? What’s your deal? Eva lets Roger down in a positive but friendly way and invites him to stay. Roger could see what everyone else saw: the close relationship between Eva and Ian.
But then we see a scene of the sisters singing The Cranberries’ “When You’re Gone” and Becca sharing the news of her pregnancy. You can feel their sadness. This show does a great job of showing how crazy loss can make you.
At noon, the sisters (except Eva) board a ship with Grace’s artificial remains in what looks like an ice bucket, but Angelica is late. The dodgy carriage lured Brannaird to her home and gave her money to go shopping. In the frantic search for Branade, did Angelica send social services workers to Eva’s home?
Houlihan remains focused on finding funding, which he believes will connect all the events. This gave Feigl an idea of where the money was going. He heads to Grace and Ian’s house. How many people dabble in light and break in on this show? He found the money in a sea turtle habitat. Is he desperate enough to use it in a custody battle?
Eva loses her mind when Bulla disappears and reports the incident to the police. Feigl and Houlihan were eager to gather information. Eva eventually revealed that they believed Angelica was stalking and blackmailing Grace, and turned on Bra. When Ian called to tell him he’d discovered Brannaird, Eva shut up again, but she provided enough new information to give Houlihan a new angle. Eva rushes over to see Brannide, who says some horrible things to Eva before stomping away. Ian walks in and kisses a distraught Eva.

Angelica finally arrived at the dock, and they found a place to scatter Grace’s ashes, which blew directly into the sisters’ faces. The whole act was surreal, with Angelica taking part in the killing, telling the sisters that she needed to be the one to mentor Branid because Eva was too busy dating Ian, implying that Eva (Eva) has done this with JP before. The sisters were shocked that Angelica suggested Eva wasn’t raped by JP, and started talking about not trusting Ian when…Twak. Angelica was knocked down by the boom and fell into the water. The sisters panic and try to find a way to save Angelica. Whatever the plan was, it wasn’t this. Becca jumped into the water to look for Angelica, but found nothing. Add another agency to the list.
Is Ian the true villain of this story? Is his sister really dead, or did he prey on women and then kill them?
You can really see reflections of her in Blanaid when JP is mean to Eva, even if it’s out of sadness. She sure knows how to pack a punch.
Really, who was in the trunk in the first episode?
