2024 Christmas “Heartwarming” Movies red number one is different. first? This is a new Santa Claus. Gone is the chubby, rosy-cheeked, jovial guy. JK Simmons plays a happy young man who delivers toys. red number one It’s a combination of old-school reindeer power and a modern computer toy assembly line.
It’s all part of an effort to sell Santa Claus to a more modern audience.
It’s kind of like an action/CGI/comedy Christmas movie.
story
Jack O’Malley grew up to be the kidnapper of Santa Claus. He eventually helps Callum Drift and the rest of Santa’s team save the bearded, muscular Santa Claus. Jack’s journey brings him into contact with Krampus and his inner child.
Cast
Dwayne Johnson plays Callum Drift.
Chris Evans plays Jack O’Malley.
Lucy Liu is Zoe.
JK Simmons is Nick, aka Santa Claus, aka Santa Claus.
Bonnie Hunt is Mrs. Claus.
Kristofer Hivju is Krampus.
Kiernan Shipka as Gryla.
Mary Elizabeth Ellis is Olivia.
Nick Kroll is Ted.
Somewhat effective
Director Jake Kasdan has successfully made this “kitchen sink” comedy work. *Why wouldn’t he? After all, he shined in Jumanji: The Next Level . This is a difficult follow-up to follow. *The script by Chris Morgan and Hiram Garcia does feel like it has a bit of everything that could be put in it; it was.
It’s no surprise that the action sequences work so well. The presence of Johnson and Evans made this inevitable. There are a lot of laughs.
Callum, as the elf leader “That’s ELF,” has anger issues. Emotionally speaking, Evans is just a kid. Completely opposite to his “hat” in Marvel.
Lucy Liu serves as “director” (an obvious nod to her role as a gang leader in “Kill Bill”).
red number one Utilizing Ant-Man technology.
Wonder Woman laughs.
The noise of Krampus’s sled is a clear nod to Friday the 13th; all of them.
red number one Drawing from The Golden Compass, Harry Potter and many other films. But so are most of the current movies coming out of tinsel town.
some things never change
Santa Claus and Christmas in Hollywood are all about joy, gifts, children, and finding the good in everyone. * Gone are the days when St. Nick handed out coal to naughty children.
Sadly, red number one Could have used more help from JK Simmons as Nick. Although his new personality has changed, he is a constant and he is the reason why we celebrate Christmas in business.
Tweens?
It seems like this movie is aimed at the teenage crowd. It takes the legend of Krampus and makes it even richer. The Kramp family’s old girlfriend Gila wants to punish everyone, but even he isn’t willing to do it.
red number one Clearly aimed at a younger audience who are moving up the maturity chain. This movie is too childish for adults and, except for the action scenes, is too old for little kids. It’s nondescript, but despite borrowing from other films, the cast is impressive.
question
The first is the use of CGI.
The second is that it borrows heavily from other previous films.
For example, Ant-Man technology and Ted’s “possession” scene used James Gunn’s “Slider” technology book. The list goes on, but you get the idea.
Believe it or not, red number one Lack of originality. Surprisingly, stories of Santa in danger or of Christmas not happening have happened before.
judgment
red number one Very interesting indeed. In places, it’s both funny and touching. *These reactions may depend on how much you drink, just saying. *This is a solid 3 stars out of 5. To the Jungle”. It’s streaming on Prime now.
