Kopp recently spoke about the film and teased what fans can expect from the film. When discussing the tone, he said it was more in line with the first film.
Speaking on The Discourse Podcast, Kopp said: “I hope people enjoy the movie because the series is [Jurassic Park III]it was like, “Okay, let’s change the tone.”
“Steven [Spielberg] I was interested in a tone that might be more similar to the first movie. I watched it early on as a mission movie. I like things that are driven by bottles, by containers.
The mission he’s talking about involves a group of people competing to obtain DNA samples from three of the largest creatures on land, sea and air.
Kopp added: “Growing up a limited team and accomplishing what they have to accomplish – that’s really fun. It’s been so much fun getting back into that great adventure world backed by real science and writing some cool new characters.
“You don’t usually get the opportunity to go to a blank sheet of paper and say, ‘What do you want to do?’ There are no franchise expectations other than dinosaurs.
Koepp said he even came up with a “nine commandments” for the new Jurassic movie, “a list of things that we must abide by.”
He revealed: “One is [that] The events in the first six movies cannot be refuted or denied because I don’t like retcon. None of this is fun.
“Secondly, humor is the oxygen. The science has to be real. You know, that’s all we wanted the movie to be about. I had a lot of fun with Steven and then with [director] Gareth [Edwards]”.
The movie is set five years after the events of the previous movie, with dinosaurs roaming the earth. “It turns out that the earth’s ecological environment is largely unsuitable for dinosaurs to survive.
“Those that remain live in isolated equatorial environments in climates similar to those in which they once thrived. Three of the largest organisms in the tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring humanity Miraculous life-saving benefits.
Scarlett Johansson (the Avengers) plays Zora Bennett, a skilled covert ops expert who is hired to lead a skilled team on a top-secret mission to obtain the genetic material of three of the world’s largest dinosaurs.
When Zola’s operations encounter a civilian family whose boating expedition is overrun by predatory aquatic dinosaurs, they all find themselves stranded on an island, where they face a sinister, shocking… discovery, which remained unknown to the world for decades.
This movie also stars Mahershala Ali (blade) As Zora’s most trusted team leader, Duncan Kincaid; Jonathan Bailey (evil) is paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis; Rupert Friend (Obi-Wan Kenobi) is Martin Krebs, a representative of Big Pharma; and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (lincoln lawyer) is Reuben Delgado, the father of a civilian family that suffered a shipwreck.
The cast includes Luna Bryce (appear), David Econo (The summer when I became beautiful) and audrina miranda (Lopez VS Lopez) as Ruben’s family, Philippines Picks (Stop 11), Beshear Sylvan (BMF) and Ed Skrein (dead Pool) as members of Zola and Krebs’ respective crews.
Jurassic World Reborn It is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 2, 2025.
