Florence Pugh is thinking about why being a woman in the industry can be “burning out”.

“I’m not hateful – I want people to think I’m nice. Pugh said that in her career to date, her goal has been to “challenge people’s perceptions of women” and what they “should look like” by pointing out why any judgment is wrong.
“I wasn’t really looking for a challenge. I was just trying to be there and make space for someone who wasn’t who he was,” she said.
Whether she’s cutting her hair short or wearing a see-through dress on the red carpet, Pugh said she’s still “proud” to stay true to herself despite any criticism or cliche beauty standards.
“I’m proud that I can stand up for who I am and keep the way I look – I’m really interested in people who are still angry that I haven’t lost more weight, or who just hate my nose ring. I can’t change that The way things are, but I can certainly help young women get into the industry and get conversations happening where they haven’t been before,” she said.
