The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the nominees for 10 Oscar categories for the 97th Academy Awards on Tuesday.
The announcement includes films for consideration in the following categories: Documentary Features, Documentary Shorts, International Features, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Cast), Music (Original Song), Animated Shorts, Live Action Shorts, Sound and Visual Effects.
Emilia Perez, “The Apprentice”, “Dune: Part 2”, “Beetlejuice”, “Nosferatu”, “Wicked”, “Contenders”, “Robot”, “Gladiator II” and Blitzkrieg is one of the films shortlisted in multiple categories.
Voting for the 97th Academy Awards begins at 9 a.m. Pacific Time on January 8 and will run until January 12 at 5 p.m. Starts at 9am and ends at 5pm.
Conan O’Brien will host the 2025 Oscars on March 2.
Raj Kapoor and Katie Mullan return as executive producers of the series, with Kapoor also serving as showrunner. Hamish Hamilton will return as director.

A total of 15 films will be shortlisted in the documentary feature category of the 97th Academy Awards. One hundred and sixty-nine films qualified for this category. Members of the Documentary Division vote to determine the shortlist and nominees.

Academy members from all branches are invited to participate in the preliminary voting and must meet minimum viewing requirements to be eligible to vote in this category.
During the nomination round, Academy members from all branches are invited to opt in and must watch all 15 shortlisted films in order to vote.

The film enters final Oscar consideration.
