A bevy of heavyweights will be ringing in the New Year on Apple Music, with Icelandic legend Björk, Swaziland-born, South African DJ Uncle Waffles and British grime icon Skepta all set to stream New Year’s Eve live on the platform this year Activity.
first, Apple Music Live: New Year’s Eve There will be rare DJ appearances from Björk, Apple Music’s Tim Sweeney and London DJ Naina. The performances were recorded at The Cause in London, an arts and events venue promoting dance culture, local London nightlife, independent business and mental health initiatives.
Listeners can tune in to the party starting at 1pm PT on December 31 via Apple Music 1 and Apple Music Club, a new live-hosted radio station Apple Music launched earlier this month. Both Sweeney and Naina serve as tour guides for the station, providing information about the cross-scenario mixes playing on the channel.
The festivities continue immediately following the conclusion of the second annual gala Apple Music Live: New Year’s Eve A live video broadcast of Uncle Waffles and Skepta’s performance at The Cause will be broadcast on Apple Music, Apple Music Club and Apple Music 1 starting at 3pm PT on December 31st.
All four mixes are available exclusively as spatial audio on Apple Music.
Apple Music Club and Apple Music 1 will continue to offer 24-hour radio programming starting at 12 a.m. PT on December 31, including exclusive tracks from Justice, John Summit, Rüfüs Du Sol and more.
This is the second year that Apple Music has provided a large-scale DJ live broadcast to celebrate the New Year. Last year, Kaytranada, Peggy Gou and Honey Dijon performed large live shows.
