Matthew Walker to direct new film Chitti Chitti Bang Bang On Thursday, EON Productions and Amazon-MGM announced that Edna Walsh will write the script.

Originating from a bedtime story by Ian Fleming (written for his son Casper), Chitti Chitti Bang Bang It was adapted into a screenplay in 1968 by Roald Dahl, Ken Hughes and Richard Maibaum. Dick Van Dyke, directed by Hughes, has become a beloved classic. The song of the same name, written by the Sherman Brothers, was nominated for an Academy Award.
EON and Amazon said Thursday that the new movie is in the early stages of development. In the original film, Van Dyke played widowed inventor Caractus Potts and his two children, Jeremy (Adrian Hall) and Jemima (Heather Ripley). Along with True Delicious (Sally Ann House), the heiress to a delicious candy empire, Potts magically restores an old race car—and flies! –ability. Produced by Cubby Broccoli, with production design by Ken Adam.
The film was also adapted on Broadway in 2005, starring Raúl Esparza as Potts.
