Some exciting new details have emerged Christopher Nolan‘s next big film project, titled Odyssey.
According to a post shared by Universal Pictures on
: The film brings Homer’s foundational legend to the IMAX movie screen for the first time and will be released in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.
Nolan has assembled an impressive list of actors for the film, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Shandaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Rob Pattinson and charlize theron.
Nolan will write and produce Emma Thomas Under their Syncopy banner, the production start date is set for sometime in the first half of 2025.
Homer’s Odyssey is a Greek epic poem that chronicles the challenging journey of King Odysseus of Ithaca as he attempts to return home after the Trojan War.
Over the course of ten years, Odysseus faces a series of dangerous trials, including encounters with the Cyclops Polyphemus, the witch Circe, the seductive sirens, and the wrath of Poseidon.
Guided by his wisdom and resilience, he overcame these obstacles while longing for his wife Penelope and son Telemachus, who awaited him in Ithaca, fighting off opportunistic suitors for the throne. .
I can’t wait to see what Nolan’s imagination brings to this epic story!
Holland recently said he signed on to the project without knowing many of the details. “To be honest, I don’t really know what it’s about.
“I was very excited, but the project had been quiet. I met [Nolan] marvelous. He’s kind of loosely laid out what it’s about and I’m sure he’ll announce what it’s about when he’s ready”
Well, now we know what the movie is going to be and I can’t wait to see it!
