The Daily Roundup you’re listening to is part of the Reality Steve Podcast. I’m your host, Reality Steve. Thanks for tuning in this Christmas. Merry Christmas to everyone if you celebrate. If not, happy holidays to everyone. Not much to cover today. We have a story and then I’ll read a few reader emails with some questions.
We’ll discuss it. We’ll get to all this later. So, the latest developments in Blake Lively’s Justin Baldoni case. Yesterday, I read that Brandon Skliener, who plays Atlas Corrigan in the movie, posted a screenshot on his Instagram Story in support of Blake, which included The 80-page complaint filed by Blake has a link that says, “For the love of God, please read this.” Another of Blake’s co-stars also came to her defense, and that’s Jenny Slate, I Jenny’s name was brought up yesterday because I said hey, two of the other biggest names in movies are Jenny Slate and Hasan Minhaj.
Jenny Slate plays Justin Bardoni’s sister Ryle in the movie. Jenny Slater said in a statement, “As Blake Lively’s partner and friend, I support her in taking action against those who reportedly planned and carried out attacks on her reputation.” Blake is a leader author, loyal friend, and my trusted source of emotional support.
And so many people who knew her and loved her. The truth behind Blake’s attack is deeply dark, disturbing and threatening. I praise my friend. I admire her bravery and I stand with her. So it’s another thing for Blake that no one in the cast, crew or production came to Justin’s defense.
Not good for him. Now, his publicist Jennifer Abell took to Facebook yesterday to defend their actions. They basically said, hey, we don’t need to do anything. Her behavior in past interviews speaks for itself. Again, I understand what they’re trying to do here. They are his PR team. I think there’s going to be a lot of back and forth about the whole PR part of this because Justin’s team is going to be like, hey, her PR team is trying to make Justin look bad.
Black’s team apparently refused, and he launched a PR smear campaign. That’s why he hired these people, and they actually have proof. Justin’s side has no evidence, and they have yet to defend their text messages and emails. So I think there’s going to be some people on both sides when it comes to PR issues. Maybe you could even make the case that Blake was trying to destroy Justin.
OK But Justin’s behavior on set is what comes into play here. She wasn’t trying to break anything. All she did was talk about what she went through on set. So I guess it comes down to that. If you want to say the PR stuff and it’s too hard to tell who’s telling the truth, that’s okay. You can pretty much eliminate this from your entire complaint.
Read the complaint and find out about his behavior on set. Don’t even worry, who planted this? Is there a smear campaign? Personally, I think there is, but even if you take that out of the equation, the man would have to answer her accusations about the way he behaved on set. Now that co-stars have come to Blake’s defense, that means they’re aware of it, too.
If they had sided with Justin, they would have spoken out against Blake, or at least not said anything. They came to Black specifically and said there were no specifics yet. They have not yet discussed what she said in the complaint. They didn’t say, oh, yeah, I saw that.
I saw it with my own eyes. But this is far from over. We know this. This situation will continue for some time. More will come out. There will probably be stories about this every day, if not every week, for the next few months. Because that’s what anyone would dig. Especially at the end of the year.
For example, there’s a new story in Us Weekly . Gosh, there are two or three new stories in Us Weekly and People. com and EW. com This issue is discussed every day. You won’t get enough from this story. And it only gets kinkier. Obviously, we’ve heard Blake speak up, and not just through her complaints, but she did make a statement.
The next guy everyone wants to hear from is Justin Baldoni. Will he have to respond to these accusations? He had to answer why did you agree to these parameters that she set for returning to filming? If you don’t believe you did anything wrong, you know, look, there are a number of ways this could go, either Justin Baldoni admits to his actions or he’s completely scorched earth.
It just attacks Black and I don’t think it’s going to be good for him. certainly. There is a small minority of female viewers who hate women and they just don’t want to like Blake Lively. I’m sure that would appeal to them, but I think if I were him, I don’t know how he would handle this legally, whether he would admit that he did all of these things, though.
I think he needs to stand up at some point and actually say something, but maybe he can’t do it legally. I don’t know, I don’t know, because there were complaints, you know, that he was being sued for sexual harassment. Maybe he won’t sit down for an interview or write some kind of column, but that’s exactly what people want to hear from Justin Baldoni with all the support Black is getting right now.
There is no one on the cast to support you and speak out on Justin’s behalf right now, let alone what happened in August. We all thought, this is so weird. He was not seen with anyone from the film during premiere week and red carpet events. The main actors in the movie have all unfollowed him on social media.
It’s like something happened and now we have an answer to what happened. This is really the only noteworthy story in entertainment news this Christmas. I’m not going to make this a 25-minute podcast, but I’d like to get two emails, the first of which says: Hey Steve, did you see the Joe Schmo show is making a comeback this time around? Everyone but one knew it was a prank.
They made him do some ridiculous things. Cat Deely comes from So You Think He Can Dance as host, which airs on TBS and begins January 21st. You know, last year I had Ingrid Wiese on the Joe Schmoe show for season one, or sorry, season two, and that season was so full of sexual innuendos that they turned it into a Bachelor type show.
When I got Ingrid on the air, it was about last year, I want to say March or April of last year, they were running commercials for The Joe Schmo Show on TBS, but it said it was coming soon. Then it disappears. I haven’t heard anything about this in over a year. Well, yes, we now have the answer.
The show will air on TBS on January 21st. I will absolutely 100% watch it. I can’t tell you how great this show is, especially when reality shows come along. If you really want to laugh, go to YouTube and Google The Joe Schmo Show Season 2. The first season was good.
It’s like setting the stage for these shenanigans type shows, but if you’re the bachelor, season two. Or Bachelorette fans. You’ll love season two of The Joe Schmo Show even more because it’s the take-off of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, where they fool two people into thinking they’re on a dating show. Everyone else is involved.
The sexual innuendo alone is interesting. So go ahead and get it checked out because I have hiccups. Great.
