After Deadpool and Wolverine hit theaters, we learned Matthew McConaughey Provides the voice of Cowboy Deadpool, one of the Deadpool variants. Now we have some concept art to share with you, showing us an alternative design.
As you can see, this character design was heavily inspired by Clint Eastwood’s classic spaghetti westerns. Artwork shared by costume illustrator Jonay Bacallado and designed by Mayes Rubeo.
Bacallado says: “Deadpool and Wolverine costume designer @mayesrubeo’s final costume concept for the Cowboy Pool ❤️💛One of the coolest and craziest scenes in the movie is the opening and arrival of Deadpool’s army of mutants .
“Cowboypool was one of the first to be conceptualized. Mace wanted to pay homage to Westerns. We took inspiration from great icons like Clint Eastwood.
“We tweaked the shapes, materials and patterns to create a more organic atmosphere. The Deadpool cape pattern was even made using traditional knitting methods. What a man with such an attitude!
I love the design of this character! It would be interesting to see Cowboy Deadpool explore more. Looks like a fun and interesting Deadpool character!
