    Billy the Kid in ‘Chisum’ turns 81

    Geoffrey Deuel, the tragic brother alias smith and jones Actor Peter Duel played the famous outlaw Billy the Kid in the movie starring John Wayne Chisumalready dead. He is 81 years old.

    Geoffrey Jacob Deuel was born in Lockport, New York, on January 17, 1943, and grew up in nearby Penfield. His father Ellsworth was a doctor and his mother Lillian was a nurse.

    After attending Penfield High School, Ithaca College and Syracuse University, Duell followed his brother to Hollywood in 1965, appearing in ABC’s 1966 in one episode 12 o’clock high.

    Jeffrey and Peter, who is three years older, co-produced an episode of NBC’s Game name Aired in February 1971.

    In the 1980s, Duell performed in Tampa’s Ybor City community and returned to school to earn a master’s degree from the University of South Florida. He worked as a substitute teacher for many years.

    In addition to his wife — they were together for 40 years and married in 2017 — survivors include his sister, Pamela.
