Christmas and New Year are over, which can only mean one thing:
New episodes of Chicago Fire are coming soon!
NBC has confirmed that Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 9 will air on Wednesday, January 8 at 8/7c.
“Chicago Fire” Season 13 Episode 8 ended with some cliffhangers that left “Chicago Fire” fanatics waiting with bated breath for resolution.
It’s worth noting that Cruz’s life may be in danger, as events from the past have haunted him to a large extent.
It’s always fun when a show revisits storylines from years ago, and that’s exactly what’s happening here.
Cruz found a bullet in his locker and car, which linked him to his brother Leon, who years earlier had been associated with the Mad Kings gang, a group led by a man named Flaco operating gang.
Could the blast from Cruz’s past be deadly?
In order to save his brother’s life, Cruz did not try to save Fries when he was on fire, which meant he was burned alive.
It’s certainly a dark twist, but what’s even darker now is that Flacco’s cousin is coming into the picture and is very interested in exacting some form of revenge.
The official synopsis for the episode teases that his “past comes back to haunt him.”
There are still a lot of unanswered questions about Cruz’s past, so there’s no better time than now to put him at the center of a storyline that’s sure to be a heart-pounding one.
No one knows where this storyline will go, but it could potentially lead to Joe Minoso’s departure because when you think about it, Cruz is in a lot of danger.
If this man was able to get into his workplace and leave a bullet specifically for him, then it stands to reason that he could get into anywhere and exact his revenge.
But Cruz has proven to be cunning and may actually be enacting a plan that allows him to get away with it, so we have to keep watching that.
If the show did plan to kill him off, it would have done so in the midseason finale because it was a way to get fans talking about the show.
Cruz’s fate isn’t the only thing up in the air, as the midseason premiere will also feature the aftermath of Mauch and Herman taking the test to advance their firefighting careers. The problem is that they may not work in Firehouse 51.
‘Chicago Fire’ Season 14 Coming, Big Changes Expected
These two best friends have made a big bet on their futures, and while they’re at a critical point in their careers, they want more.
If they have to leave their friends at Firehouse 51, is “more” really worth it? They are such a tight-knit family and they have to make decisions that they agree on.
Then again, maybe Chief Pascal won’t be on the show as long as we expected.
Dermot Mulroney struck a chord with audiences, so it would be a shame to lose such a great character so soon.
Pascal has gone through some growing pains, but he has the potential to be one of the better characters.
The episode’s synopsis hints that there’s going to be something else going on with Mochi in the premiere besides the exam.
The network teases that he’ll be looking for the victim’s next of kin, which we’re sure won’t be fun for anyone involved.
Taylor Kinney Returns to Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 9
Finally, NBC confirmed that Taylor Kinney will return and that Seyfried is “prepared to teach arson at the academy.”
To be honest, we’re surprised Tyler is still associated with the show since he’s seemed to have been preparing for a permanent exit over the past few years.
That said, as one of the few original cast members to leave, the producers will likely do whatever they can to keep him around.
