When the fire breaks out, who do you want to save through the smoke?

TV’s Fire Department has become as iconic as the heroes they depict, but which team would you trust?

Let’s break down the choices—and some reasons to cheer (or laugh) about each one. Then, make your choice in our poll!

    118 stations (9-1-1)

In 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 8, Buck and Eddie help as the floodwaters fall.In 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 8, Buck and Eddie help as the floodwaters fall.
    (Disney/Remy Kershaw)

Why they’re top-notch: Fans of 9-1-1 know that 118 is the Swiss Army Knife of fire departments.

Need someone to rappel down a collapsed high-rise building? They caught you. Is anyone trapped in a tar pit? no problem. If your rescue needs emotional support, Bobby’s fatherly wisdom and Buck’s puppy-like enthusiasm can meet your needs.

Why you might be hesitant: Sure, they’re good firefighters, but these firefighters can cause chaos.

From tsunami rescues to out-of-control bouncy houses, they won’t exactly calm your emergency. Plus, given Buck’s history, it’s highly unlikely that he’ll somehow end up getting in. your Treehouse instead of saving you.

    Station 126 (9-1-1: Lone Star)

Marian and Paul compete against each other in the season premiere.Marian and Paul compete against each other in the season premiere.
    (Kevin Estrada/Fox)

Why They’re Top-notch: The 126 doesn’t just put out fires, it puts them out. They are associated with tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, and even… Rattlesnake infestation.

Captain Strand’s movie quips and Owen’s perfect hair will make you feel safe and Stylish.

Why you might be hesitant: 9-1-1: Lone Star firefighters can be a little too Texan for comfort at times.

Consider overly dramatic solutions, like using a flamethrower to put out…another fire. Not to mention Owen’s penchant for turning every emergency into a personal crusade.

Fire Station 51 (Chicago Fire Department)

    (NBC/Peter Gordon)

Why they’re top-notch: If you want pure power, the Firehouse 51 is the gold standard.

Whether it’s putting out multi-alarm fires or supporting each other through heartbreak, this team embodies dependability. Chief Pascal’s mere presence can force fire into submission.

Why you might be hesitant: Drama seems to follow Chicago Firefighters like a second shadow.

If your emergency coincides with Mochi’s existential crisis or Carver’s love life hitting a snag, you may have to wait a while before you can get help. And there’s always the possibility that your flames are a metaphor for something… deeper.

    Station 42 (Fire Nation)

    (Sergey Baklakov/CBS)

Why They’re Top-notch: Who better to deal with the inferno than a firehouse in the middle of wildfire country?

Bode and his Fire Nation team know fires well and often complete rescue missions with courage and determination. Additionally, they have convicted firefighters on their team, bringing street smarts into the mix.

Why you might hesitate: Criminals, you say? While Bode’s path to redemption is inspiring, some may hesitate before entrusting their rescue to those with time.

Let’s face it, the California wilderness they operate in isn’t exactly “safe and controlled.”

Why they’re top-notch: Station 19 combines Seattle charm with grit in every rescue.

They are known for their teamwork and handling emergencies like well-oiled machines. Additionally, Andy Herrera’s determination and passion can light up any room or extinguish any fire.

Why you might be hesitant: When Station 19 arrives, your urgency may be overshadowed by their personal drama.

Love triangles, workplace conflicts and heavy monologues may delay your rescue. But hey, at least you’ll get a front-row seat to the soap opera!
