Streaming is booming: Bob Dylan’s catalog soars with ‘Total Unknown’
Completely unknownJames Mangold’s new Bob Dylan biopic starring Timothée Chalamet has been receiving rave reviews from critics over the past few weeks and has ranked among the top box office grossers Top 10 and garnered Oscar attention. With the film opening in general release on December 25, unknown Dylan’s legendary catalog has seen huge growth on streaming services since Christmas, as listeners put away their holiday playlists and started listening Highway 61 Revisited.
Dylan’s work was streamed 11.6 million times on demand in the United States in the week ended December 26, according to Luminate. The following week (ending January 2), that number jumped to 20.2 million, the first full tracking week since the film’s wide release. Compared to Dylan’s streaming figures a month earlier, his work received 8.1 million streams in the week ending December 5. G3 Gelo (aka LiAngelo Ball) scores first viral smash goal of 2025
It hit the ground running and then had the first viral track of the year in just three days.
After a clip from “Tweaker” went viral in late December, Gelo (the second of three basketball brothers, along with Chicago Bulls and Charlotte Hornets guards Lonzo and LaMelo, respectively) uploaded the full content via DSP to WorldStarHipHop’s YouTube channel will be uploaded later.
The early ’00s hip-hop song has seen its streaming numbers increase every day since its official release on January 3. . On January 6, the song had over 1.83 million official on-demand plays in the United States, up from 188,000 plays on January 3.
G3 Gelo’s breakout hit has been endorsed by sports teams across the country and co-signed by some of hip-hop’s heavyweights. Boosie Badazz and Moneybagg Yo both asked Gelo to send them an opening poem. what else? A news anchor has already mentioned “Tweaker” on the live broadcast! Avicii’s catalog traffic surges after release of new documentary
The Avicii catalog has experienced a significant streaming surge following the release of a new documentary about the late artist.
Following the release on December 31st I’m Tim On Netflix, global on-demand streaming of the Swedish producer’s catalog increased 63.9%, according to Luminate. In the four days leading up to the film’s release (December 27-30), the artist’s catalog totaled 26.4 views, and from December 31 to January 30, this number has grown to 43.3 million. 3.
Avicii’s three biggest hits saw particularly significant streaming surges: 2013’s “Wake Me Up” (featuring Aloe Blacc) saw a 47.1% increase in global on-demand streams; 2015’s “The Color of the Night” grew 27.6% ; The “level” in 2011 increased by 68.2%. – Katie Bain

‘Mufasa’ soundtrack a hit on streaming to ring in the new year

Pierre also sang with Tiffany Boone on the soundtrack’s other breakout song, “Tell Me It’s You.” Streaming activity for their duo has surged 1,301% over the past two weeks, with official U.S. on-demand streams surpassing 1.09 million times last week (December 27-January 2).
In addition to returning cast members from the 2019 film, including Beyoncé and Donald Glover, mufasa Featuring some new members, including Grammy Award winner Blue Ivy Carter and BAFTA nominated actor Mads Mikkelsen. Although Carter didn’t sing mufasaMickelson performed “Goodbye,” another hit song from the soundtrack, along with Joanna Jones and Forake Olofoyeku.
