sesame street Season 55 of the beloved children’s show will premiere on Max on January 16, with an impressive list of special guests. Rapp and Samara Joy will appear on this year’s series, in a season centered around teaching kids about emotional health.
Actor Michael B. Jordan, TV personality/hairstylist Jonathan Van Ness and tennis player Billie Jean King are among the celebrity guests announced by Sesame Workshop on Thursday (January 9).
This season’s celebrity guests will participate in “Story Stories,” songs and other segments.

This season’s show focuses on emotional health and aims to “help children learn easy-to-understand and strategies for coping with strong emotions through fun, light-hearted, engaging and engaging stories,” according to a Sesame Workshop press release.
“New episodes sesame street will help young viewers understand and express their feelings, learn new mindfulness practices, and, as always, have a great time with their favorite furry and fun friends,” sesame street Executive Producer Sal Perez says. “Whether it’s taking a deep breath when you’re angry, learning to embrace yourself when you’re frustrated, or shaking it off when you’re disappointed, we’re equipping kids with strategies to help them build resilience and essential skills for emotional well-being.”
“This season’s emotional health curriculum was developed in response to the growing mental health crisis affecting children around the world. Focusing on emotional awareness and social connection skills, children will learn that all emotions matter and that we all experience significant emotions, and how to navigate social situations with friends, family, and the broader community,” added Rosemary Truglio, Ph.D., senior vice president of curriculum and content at Sesame Workshop.
