Flavor supports Leighton Meester’s music during wildfire recovery

Leighton Meester’s music career is undergoing a renaissance after her Los Angeles home was devastated by recent wildfires.

Encouraged by Flavor Flav, fans unite in support gossip Girl The actress and singer revisited her discography, sparking a wave of support on social media and music platforms. Flavor Flav took to TikTok on January 14 to highlight Meester’s 2009 single “Somebody to Love” featuring Robin Thicke.

In the video, the “Public Enemy” rapper dances to the popular song, urging fans to “live ‘Somebody to Love’ on @LeightonMeester and use the song on TikTok,” he captioned the post Wrote: “Starting hyping my daughter Leighton Meester and helping her family recover from the fire.”

Calls for support came after Meester and her husband, actor Adam Brody, were reportedly among the many families displaced by the wildfires that began last week and forced thousands to evacuate. The couple, who have two children, have not commented publicly on the loss of their Pacific Palisades home.

Fans have since responded to Meester’s self-written debut album with overwhelming enthusiasm, heartstringsreleased in 2014.

The album has now climbed to No. 18 on the iTunes all-genre album chart, surpassing notable albums such as Taylor Swift tortured poets departmentPost Malone F-1 trillionand Sabrina Carpenter’s Short N sweet. Her 2010 single “Your Love’s a Drug” also broke into the iTunes song charts.

The resurgence reflects support for another wildfire victim, Heidi Montag, whose decade-old album shallowWith its viral TikTok campaign, it recently topped the iTunes charts.

Flav has also been instrumental in promoting Montag’s music, posting multiple TikTok videos with the caption “Doing my best to get Heidi Montag to No. 1.” Montag and her husband, Spencer Pratt, who lost their Pacific Palisades home to the fire, took to social media to share their journey and encourage fans to play Montag’s music to help them rebuild their home.

Following the success shallowMontag’s album soared to No. 1 on iTunes. To celebrate, Montag and Platt join advertising billboard Tetris Kelly discussed future plans, including new music, during a TikTok livestream.

“We were actually contacted by one of the most famous writers and producers and I recorded it yesterday,” Montag revealed. “They asked us not to reveal who they are […] We’re really excited and there’s a lot more in the works. We also really want to focus on giving some of that back to the community, so we’re trying to figure out how to incorporate philanthropy into everything we do.

Meanwhile, Flavor Flav, who advocates the use of music as a means of recovery, also announced on January 11 that he had donated to wildfire relief efforts through GoFundMe campaigns and non-profit organizations.

He encouraged others to join his efforts, saying: “They need us now.”

Meester’s music career includes some standout moments, such as her collaboration with Cobra Starship on the 2009 hit “Good Girl Gone Bad,” and her role in the 2010 film Guoqiang, and the release of singles such as “Somebody to Love” and “Your Love’s a Drug.”
