Yes, we know missing the Chicago Fire’s final high wasn’t exactly a high.
Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 10, titled “Chaos Theory,” was moved forward to allow President Joe Biden to say goodbye to the country.
The last thing we want is for the fire station to dampen our excitement, but with Chicago Fire, we’re used to it.
Sadly, the show is already in encore mode, and despite returning after a holiday hiatus last week, there’s still plenty to look forward to when new episodes air later this month.
So, what can we expect from Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 10? Plenty of Severide, we agree.
Severide’s task is daunting
Taylor Kinney has been around a bit in recent years, but he played a key role in Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 9 and will appear in the next episode as well.
“Seyfried is forced to investigate a member of his own squad,” NBC teases in the episode, which will put Seyfried in quite the hot spot.
He develops a rapport with his players, but his leadership skills will be tested as he must ignore what he knows about them personally.
It’s a dilemma that could also be another opportunity for Taylor to show off her acting chops.
Since we know he’s been served with documents asking him to revisit the fire that killed Flacco during Chicago Fire season 1, that’s likely where this story is headed.
Investigating Cruz won’t be easy for Severide, especially since he and those close to him have been in many similar situations where they should have sought help but didn’t.
The Chicago Fire Season 13 midseason premiere focused on the aftermath of Cruz’s past coming back to haunt him in the form of Flacco’s cousin.
This sent Cruz into a tailspin, and by the end of the hour, Flacco’s cousin met him at Heaven’s Gate.
The worst part of this story is that Cruz could and should have owned up to his past mistakes in order to avoid doing what he is doing now. Instead, he hesitated, and by the time he came to his senses, the tragedy had already begun.
There will undoubtedly be a ripple effect for Cruz and everyone around him for the rest of the season.
So far, the only consolation we can take is that Cruz is still alive, because it doesn’t look like his condition is going to get any better.
The photos are ominous, with Cruz shadowed in the dark as the stern-faced Chief Pascal enters the room.
Of course, Pascal’s tone is harsh, and we wouldn’t be surprised if this is a tease and the real meat of the story comes later.
The show rarely releases anything that would give away the show’s true intentions, so we expect Cruz to stick with his latest error in judgment for some time.
What’s the point of such a dramatic and pivotal mistake if he doesn’t let it eat away at his soul and put the people he cherishes most at risk?
In case you missed it, TV Fanatic was happy to chat with Joe Minoso about the explosive storyline, and you can read all about it here.
Elsewhere, the team investigated the “crisis at the heart of the community”. The network is deliberately keeping us in the dark about this incident, but it could amount to a digital effort to save lives.
That’s the way the show is going now, we always expect something bigger to happen than what we get, so it’s best to temper our expectations for this event.
Meanwhile, Kidd “helped a teacher through the aftermath.”
Yes, Kidd returns from his trip and reunites with Seyfried and the team. We’re ready to see a renewed focus on their relationship.
We need some burning romance to go with our burning embers, and goodness knows Violet and Carver aren’t trying hard enough to add any excitement to eager hearts!
Of course, there’s a lot more story going on, but from what we know, these will be the big ones we can expect to play out in the next episode.
2025 Chicago One crossover event may be postponed
Delays in new episodes could mean the upcoming three-episode crossover could be at risk of being delayed.
There has been no confirmation if the episode was originally slated to air next week, but if so, the highly anticipated event will be pushed back to sometime in February.
It’s been a minute since the three shows crossed over, but there’s always reason to be excited when it actually happens.
A lot has changed for the Chicago Fire Department, Chicago Med, and Chicago Police Department since the last three-part event, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store.
