Will Trent continues to get better with each season, and season three excels at combining high-stakes drama with compelling character arcs.
GBI and Det. Ormwood plays the title role in the film, but Angie Polaski only appears in a handful of scenes.
It was finally her time to shine. In Will Trent Season 3 Episode 3, “Finding a New Pond,” Angie makes a horrific discovery at the Waldorf Astoria and attempts to rejoin the police force.
While we hate to see Angie in danger, we’re happy to see her in multiple scenes.
We’re also excited to see the entire GBI team come back together as they adjust to the team dynamic.
Angie discovers something that puts her in danger
Angie has a habit of finding herself in bad situations. Handyman John is a little sketchy when he brings her flowers and hopes she’ll forget he fell off a ladder at work.
Who gave women flowers, took them back, and threw them on the grass? This is so strange!
Initially, I viewed him as a faceless figure, but now I suspect he is the next serial killer. Why is poor Angie stuck in a relationship with these losers?
Hopefully Angie learned a lesson about keeping secrets. This detail may not seem important, but it may actually be.
Discovering a dead body at the Waldorf Astoria can be horrifying. She was just a security guard, not even a police officer. After getting to know Angie, she will most likely play “Nancy Drew” and try to solve the case to prove her worth.
I doubt John knew who Angie was. Her case must appear in a newspaper or on the news. Even his comments suggesting she didn’t belong there seemed fishy.
If he meant she was too good to be a security guard, he was wrong. She screwed up, and seeing her remorse was by far the best part of Angie’s arc.
While I hate seeing Angie in danger, I’m also looking forward to it because of Erica Christensen’s performance with so many layers.
I enjoyed seeing and learning what clues Angie found that led her to John. Apparently, she gave Michael a clue as he told her about John’s horrific criminal history.
This makes me nervous because Angie tends to confront sex offenders. This has always been a trigger for her. Symbolically, her last case involved a sexual predator, as did her first.
She just promises not to let the case become personal, so she has to maintain a delicate balance.
She could become John’s next victim, or solve the case and become a hero, earning herself a chance to rejoin the force.
Hopefully Michael or someone else from APD will arrive as a replacement. They seem to be the only ones who still support her.
Is this what happens when Angie and Will are thrown into the same room?
After Will arrested Angie at the end of Will Trent season 2, Will and Angie avoided each other in grief.
If Angie rejoins the force, they won’t be able to avoid each other forever. However, if Angie is in danger, will that be the time when they meet?
Even after everything that happened, Will wouldn’t let anything happen to her. If Michael needed to come back, he would go with Michael.
However, after what Angie may have witnessed, I’m not sure they would have put her through such an emotional and awkward conversation.
Ramon Rodriguez joked that Will and Angie ended up talking a few episodes later. “It’s not easy because there’s so much history.”
“They’ve been through so much and what happened and how they dealt with it was heart-wrenching.”
It seemed like Will couldn’t stand being near Angie any more than she could stand him.
As much as I love these two, they need some space. While they need closure, they still need time to heal.
Will is confused about his first case with the GBI
We are so happy to see Will back at GBI. While we’ll miss scruffy Will, his defining personality was wearing a three-piece suit and being clean-shaven.
Unfortunately, Will seems to be stumped by his first case with the GBI. Spoilers tease that a fight at a family business leads to multiple poisonings.
This draws Will and Faith into a web of family secrets and corporate intrigue. With so many suspects, it’s very difficult to find the murderer.
At the end of Will Trent Season 3 Episode 2, Will and Faith awkwardly reconciled.
While they always have each other’s backs, it can take a while before they’re as close as they once were.
Hopefully it won’t be too long. We miss their banter while questioning suspects or analyzing data.
As seen in the weekly promo, Det. Ormwood is still at GBI, so we’re curious where he works or who he works with.
