Provided by Netflix return to action (2025) was severely criticized by critics. But folks, don’t take this seriously. It was meant to be a bit of fun. Apparently, everyone expected Cameron Diaz to be Lady Macbeth to Jamie Foxx’s King of Scotland.
Really?

behind the camera
before discussing who is doing what return to action Speaking of the shenanigans behind the scenes, I just want to say one thing. The movie looks great and is entertaining despite some two-dimensional characters. what is it no Very deep.
Seth Gordon directed this one. He also co-wrote the script with Brendan O’Brien (“Neighbors”), and the two make a great combination. This movie certainly tickled that old funny bone.
It also features some “kick-ass” stunts. We tip our hat to Laurent Busson for choreographing some of the most amazing fights in our lives. Everything works fine here. VFX, stunts (so good we have to mention it twice.) and cinematography: Ken Seng shines here.
at last?
The music rocks with precision (no pun intended.). exist return to action Christopher Lennertz’s score is just right for every scene. How can you not love the use of a Dean Martin song during the plane fight scene.
it works
return to action Not Shakespeare, and definitely “shaken, not stirred.” However, now is a good time. It’s certainly not an awkward spy movie like “Spectre.” Everyone brings their A game to this game. Glenn Close is doing his own version of Helen Mirren red man character and kill it.
Please pay attention to the young actors here. Despite being trapped in two-dimensional characters, they showed off their little cotton socks. Hats off to them.
Despite the naysayers, Diaz’s return was a triumph. Doing what she does best almost effortlessly. *Given “rumors” about her work environment and conflicts with co-star Foxx.
Even though Foxx had health issues during and after filming, he also did what he does best. I’m an unabashed fan. The only movie of his that I didn’t like was the remake of Annie. While rumors about his run-in with Diaz cast a pall over the film, it’s clear his issues were health-related.
judgment
return to action Earned 4 out of 5 stars. The movie is now streaming on Netflix and is definitely worth watching. I highly recommend it.
