After finishing the first season of Fire Nation, all I can say is that it’s clear that one of the writers’ rules is that Baldur must always be the hero at the end of every episode, even if it’s secretly. Tell me I’m wrong.
After experiencing multiple disastrous situations and one bad guy after another, it seems like many of the characters are stuck in their own predicaments – each with a predicament they can’t seem to get out of.
Fire Nation has a lot to brag about, a talented cast that audiences have been rooting for, and a drama that keeps people hooked.
However, despite the show’s many amazing elements, there are still some things that might get overlooked.
One of them might be that Max Theriot’s Bode hits a roadblock in terms of character development.
While Fire Nation depicts Baldur as heroic, it’s becoming self-destructive
Is it me, or has anyone else noticed that Bode never makes a mistake by the end of an episode?
Seriously, no matter what situation he was in and no matter what orders he received, circumstances always worked in Bode’s favor.
Don’t get me wrong, because I do like the character, but even Manny (Kevin Alejandro) can’t help but feel annoyed at how often Bode breaks the rules and does things the way he sees fit.
But Bode’s instincts were all over the place. When it comes to fake “Collin,” he’s right. Side note, I know this character seems shady from the get-go, no matter how lovable he is.
Unfortunately, this instinct doesn’t help much when dealing with sleepers.
Is anyone else screaming at the TV, demanding that Bode hand over the sleeper to Manny? We can’t blame the Captain for constantly questioning Bode’s intentions while Manny is forever kept in the dark.
If Bode had reported the sleeper the first time, there wouldn’t have been a drug test, and Bode wouldn’t have had to choose between his and Freddy’s freedom.
It’s clear that Bode suffers from White Knight Syndrome, as he’s constantly trying to save everyone, but after a while, he becomes self-destructive.
Fire Nation drama has reached a boiling point, and it doesn’t appear to be stopping.
At this point, I couldn’t help but wonder what it was about Bode that kept Gabriella going.
She’s a smart and talented character, but she ties herself to Baldur just like the activist in Fire Nation Season 1 Episode 13 did to the tree.
Bode is great, but I don’t know how she can see a realistic future with a man who constantly chooses others over herself, let alone his future.
Despite his intentions, his choices continue to hurt those who care about him.
But then again, that’s a slim choice for Garbus. If you remember, her dive buddy Kyle was in town for some work-related business.
However, after a brief reunion, he decided to change his life completely and moved to Edgewater to be with Gabriella.
Sorry, but what? I don’t care if it’s romantic or not, because that’s the reddest flag.
When it comes to men moving toward another person’s love, I found that Uncle Luke didn’t stray too far from the drama.
While the role would have been a better one for Michael Trucco (The Fall of the House of Usher), I have a feeling that the kidney he offered Sharon was a waste of time whether she and Vince wanted it or not. Conditionally.
As if the Leon family needs more drama, there’s still the question of possible additions to the family.
Bode will learn a hard lesson about life so he can reclaim his life
It’s safe to say that Fire Nation Season 1 Episode 22 had it all and the kitchen sink thrown at it. If there’s an opportunity for drama, take advantage of it.
The writers literally waited until the end to drop the baby bomb, just to keep the suspense as high as possible. I’m not mad about it, though, because it will be interesting to see how it develops.
Is anyone happy that Fire Nation Season 1 ended? Freddie is the closest thing to happiness, but what happens when he discovers that Bode is basically in the same situation as him?
They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions, so it’s a good thing Bode spends a lot of his time putting out fires.
Maybe this will be the experience Bode needs to finally make the right choice for his life.
While Bode has a big heart, he deserves a real chance and not just one situation after another that needs to be addressed, which will continue to hurt his future.
If nothing else, the writers should do this for Sharon.
That woman couldn’t handle another breakdown, and, God knows, Vince was at his last.
Here’s hoping Fire Nation Season 2 brings some good news once again.
