There’s an unwritten rule when it comes to police procedurals that you need to drink at least a large glass of water, he spends his time brooding and taking everything too seriously.
For ABC’s “High Potential,” that role is none other than the smoldering and mysteriously sexy Detective Karadek, who has a very strong jaw.
Sure, Morgan may be the main character of the series, but even with her big brain, she’d be hard-pressed to do it all on her own.
The value of any show is the sum of its parts, and High Potential is made up of a quality cast that never stops delivering intense drama and just the right amount of comedy.
Karadek has been with Morgan in most of his scenes since the series began. Between these two characters, they pretty much set the tone and pace of every episode.
It’s no wonder, then, that many viewers, including this TV fanatic, are not only looking forward to Karadek’s appearance, but appreciating how he balances Morgan’s rather eccentric nature.
Detective Karadek is the glue that keeps Morgan grounded and the reason some cases reach legal conclusions
First of all, no one could have imagined that High Potential would be a hit with audiences, but audiences couldn’t get enough of this well-crafted program.
This is largely due to what Daniel Sunjata brings to his character Adam Karadec. Side note, using Karadek’s name is weird. It’s like calling Pope Jorge.
Karadek may not be a man of many words, but his presence and determined nature can be felt in almost every scene.
Maybe that’s because, without him, Morgan would have screwed up a lot of cases.
Don’t get me wrong, as Morgan is the magic sauce that speeds up the resolution of every case, but her methods aren’t exactly the most law-abiding.
Take High Potential Season 1 Episode 9 as an example. Despite the many cases that have occurred since the start of the season, Morgan had to be reminded once again not to steal evidence, such as Tiana’s phone, because it was unacceptable.
Karadek may be a ridiculously handsome dirtbag, but the man knows what he’s talking about.
I’m sure Morgan will find a solution, though. But in the end, sometimes it’s best to just follow the rules.
High Potential tries to be subtle, but there’s no getting around the feeling that High Potential is developing for the main character
It might be just me, but is anyone else dying to see Karadek in anything other than a shirt? I’m not even talking about the topless scene.
Can we have this person wear a t-shirt or even a tank top? Oh my gosh, this show is set in California.
Then again, the writers might save it for special occasions, like an undercover episode or something.
In recent episodes, it’s become clear that the character has begun to develop feelings for his partner.
Of course, it’s possible he’s just recognizing Morgan’s (Caitlin Olsen) worth. The long look that the other party cannot see is how it is expressed in the real world, right?
Granted, at this point, Karadek is the most stable male relationship Morgan has managed to maintain. Poor Tom and Ludo (Taran Killam) – they never stood a chance.
With the Season 1 finale of High Potential fast approaching, it’s time for the series to give fans more than the same brooding detective
It has to be said that Daniel Sunjata is a truly striking man, and not just because he looks like he can lift a man with the ease of a classic romance novel.
For nearly three decades, the man has played roles in some of the best TV series and movies to date. I had completely forgotten that he played designer James Hoult in The Devil Wears Prada.
From Manifest to Happy, this man has been through it all! Head to Graceland and The Stand.
Surprisingly, some viewers may be surprised to find that there isn’t much overlap between Sunjata and his character. The similarity between the two could not be lower, which is enough to show the talent of the actor.
Caradek will certainly suffer some repercussions, though, as the show barely touches on the character’s personal life.
With the Season 1 finale of High Potential fast approaching, it’s a good time for the ABC drama to give viewers something to satisfy them until the show is renewed.
I mean, the steamy scenes with Sunjata’s character aren’t the worst thing. This man clearly spends a lot of time in the gym, and that’s worth acknowledging.
