Donald Trump has claimed that Melania: Twenty Days to History is the “number one <a href="https://cinemamix360.com/2026/08/07/love-machina-is-the-rare-technology-movie-with-a-heart/” title=”Love Machina is the rare technology movie with a heart”>movie of the year”.
The US president made the claim, which he backed up with no evidence, during a speech in Las Vegas on Wednesday (5 August).
After discussing his wife’s dislike of his transgender weightlifting impression, which he does frequently, Mr Trump went on to praise his wife as an “elegant” woman.
“She did a movie, I think it’s the number one movie of the year.” The film, released in January, focused on the 20 days leading up to the US president’s 2025 inauguration.
As of August 2026, the highest-grossing film of the year is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which has made over $1bn worldwide. In its opening weekend, Melania: Twenty Days to Historymade $7m.
