In this episode, investigations into Gaby and Jazz’s past evolve, making more tension and disturbing truths uncovered. Just as Jazz is questioned by DCPD, as well as Gabi’s behavior and her connection to Sir Deepens, the episode moves back and forth between the present and the key flashbacks.
The story begins with Mr. Trent’s inquiry about Gaby’s kidnapping. When he asked if the information would be used to convict GABI, the Jazz’s response was calculated. Trent confirmed that this would be the case, setting a flashback for nearly 20 years of flashback. In it, the Jazz wakes up and finds Gaby, where an unknown man whispers nearby. The man left, and even after all these years, the Jazz immediately acknowledged Gaby. She held the gun and said, “You will burn in hell.” This moment was filled with danger and unresolved tension, establishing a deep and dangerous history between the two.
The flashback continues, indicating that the Jazz is trapped in the basement as Gabby is holding a gun on him. She was obviously in pain, and the Jazz was feeling her internal conflict. The Jazz asked Gaby why she wanted to kill him now. There was a knock on the door. Margaret talks about Jamie’s body being found at the bus station. Gabi tried to assure her, but it was obvious that things were spiraling for her. When the truth of the body began to disband, Gabi tried to keep the control slip.
Meanwhile, Dhan recorded a video saying he was involved in the kidnapping of Sir, but Lacey stopped him, pointing out that it would only hurt Gaby’s case. Dan, who longs to protect her, believes that it will at least reduce her verdict. But Lacey explained that it will provide more evidence. Dhan’s behavior emphasizes the complexity of the relationship between characters, and his inner thoughts are obvious.
As the investigation progresses, Jamie is introduced to the M&A, and Margaret brings him into the spotlight, introducing him to Lacey and Dhan. Tensions can cause more questions as Jamie reappears, rather than answers. His past mystery remains, initially reluctance to speak or open up, adding more layers to the already complex story. Margaret tries to connect these points, finding himself lost when Jamie doesn’t share his position over the years.

In the past, Mr. was still locked in the basement and eavesdropped on the conversation upstairs. As Gabi’s friends talked around him, he began writing about the information he heard, getting records of the details. Meanwhile, Gabi began to lose control of the situation. When there was noise downstairs, Lacey wanted to know what it was, and Dan who knew Mr. was there blamed the building. Gabi is still trying to manage the chaos, getting up when Trent arrives with a bag of children’s shoes. Margaret immediately saw them as Jamie’s.
Now, Gabi reflects on Jamie’s suspicious reappearance the night he was arrested. She told Dhan that if Jamie had a mole, it was him. In another flashback, Gabby had a panic attack after seeing her father’s urn, but then remembered Jazz. This led to the gentleman revealing that he knew everything about her and that he was willing to help. But Gabi insisted that she didn’t need him.
The flashback continues to show Jazz’s escape. When Gabby left, the Jazz took the opportunity to go upstairs, flip through her stuff, and realize that her father had passed away. The gentleman seemed to think that as the father walked away, she was now “his” again, suggesting his distorted view of their relationship. Gabby came back to find the Jazz and had escaped, she knew it was a problem.
In one of the more intense moments, Gabby shot next to the Jazz, deliberately missing his head. She then revealed that she wrote a script for him, just like he used to let her read the script. The script accused Mr. of killing Gaby’s father. In the heat of the moment, Jazz blurted out that what he found at the bus station was not Jamie’s body. He admitted he saw police files and begged Gaby for five minutes to prove it.
Gabi put down the file and showed the jazz photos. The remains were found in a book published in 2015, a few years after Jamie’s disappearance. This discovery made Gabi realize that Mr. could hear what was happening upstairs. This also forces her to face the truth about what she avoids. Mr. may be manipulative, but his knowledge and behavior also reveals a deeper level of the mystery.
Today, Jamie is still confused, asking more about the merger and acquisition and its work, indicating that he is not ready to go home. Margaret has been trying to piece things together, and he talks about her work and that she never gave up on Jamie. But his confusion about his belongings remains. He still doesn’t want to talk about what happened, but Dhan opens up about his imprisonment and betrayal and explains how the merger and acquisition gives him a family. He insists that even if Jamie needs more time now, he is now part of the family. But Jamie is not ready to accept it.

As tension is established, Dhan steals a piece of Jamie’s pizza for DNA testing. Jamie pretended to fall asleep. Meanwhile, the flashback shows that Gabby’s original suspicion of the book has always been correct. When Sir insisted that he was not lying, she called Zeke, who confirmed Mr. was correct in his publication date. The librarian lied to her that the book was not published in 2015, but in 2007, it could not have been Jamie’s body after all.
Today, with the Jazz’s confession or lack of charges, the investigation is crucial to Gaby’s fate. The gentleman refused to admit that Gabby had kidnapped him, lied to protect her, said to Trent “Shame of you”, declaring: “Gabriel Mosley is innocent.” This left DCPD without any cases because they It is impossible to hug her based on the Jazz’s refusal to cooperate.
This episode returns to the merger with Gabi, where she embraces everyone, but her relief is short-lived. Although she no longer faces arrest, she realizes she is not really getting rid of the jazz. He lied to protect her, but in doing so, he trapped her in an unresolved tension. The scene shifts to Margaret, who adds Jamie to the wall of the person who discovers it. Jamie seems far away, though, staring at Gabi looking from the background.
At the last moment, Trent finds Gabi and is surprised that she does not celebrate her new discovery freedom. Gabi explained that although she was not technically arrested, she was still bound by the weight of her past actions, and the Jazz refused to tell the truth put her at a crossroads.
The plot ends with Jazz in prison, looking at the camera and smiling. His smile is disturbing, giving viewers more questions about his true intentions and what he will do next.
