Ma Dong-Seok aka Don Lee is the new Bud Spencer

Looking at me, II and III, I suddenly realized that Ma Dong-Seok (aka Don Lee is the new Bud Spencer). At least in Korea he is.

I first noticed Dong-Seok, “Good, Bad, Weird.” He plays the giant hammer, Berdi, and Bear.

He popped up again among the zombies heading to Busan in 2016 “Horror on the Train”.

Bid Spencer

Bud Spencer, also known as Carlo Pedersoli, also known as Tiger: starred in “Spaghetti West”. Most notably with fellow Italian Terence Hill. After becoming a world star in the brilliant and entertaining comedy Trinity Western, Spencer continues to work alone. *The two actors did share the screen on Westerners. Sadly, they weren’t that good in their original genre outings.

Not the same at all

These two stars are not the same at all. Spencer is a human giant. (6.3 1/2) His trademark is a slap from the “Round House” and a hammer made of fists, overhead. His opponent was eliminated in a quick way. He is not a stuntman or choreographer of the battle sequence. He is very big.

Lee, also known as Ma Dong-Seok, on the other hand, started in the stunt world, is a stunt choreography. His trademarks include the powerful fist of the “Round Room” on the abdomen and head.

Lee and Spencer do have one thing in common, and they are always the biggest presence in the room except for that top slap. They both stand out in the battle sequence.

Similar but different

The two performers are similar, but not the same. Spencer is the giant of men on screen. He easily towered on his opponent. Lee, 5.10 is higher than most of his partners, but he doesn’t look down on much.

It is their approach to choreography that is almost inseparable. Everyone is bigger than life, both offer a “one and finished” type of combat style.

*Although Lee is more energetic in the battle sequence, he often strikes multiple times in a short period of time. **
