2023 short film Optillus Prove that illusion is the center of the soul. The protagonist shows how a person reads optical hallucinations, revealing their innermost thoughts and behaviors. This 27-minute short circuit puts a lot of information and hallucinations in front of us.
story
Ailia Perls is a young woman who has experienced a tragic past. A terrible car accident left her alone in the world. Arya can only remember that there are few details about the incident, but it hurts her emotionally.
Her work on the program she invented called Optilus is based on what people see in images. She applied for a job with the Canadian Police Force and was hired. A prophecy was made from the first day of the Toronto Police Department she assigned.
The young lady will change her life in a very real way.

it works
Optillus Working on many different levels. Obviously, the visuals, but it also hints more. Take the ending as an example. If you don’t hear many tips that Wabu spread throughout the movie, watch the finale again. Then tell me that you won’t get a huge hunch.
Wabu puts us in Perl’s space, her mentality and her problems. Just like she invited Bob into the world of the museum. All these snapshots of the creator walls and the fear of building them made us wear Perls’ shoes.
Everything works here. Almost subconsciously revealing and using light, especially shadows, makes us move in the right direction.
Behind the camera
John Wabu writes, directs and produces Optullis. The depth he gives us is usually not visible in short films. He teamed up with Arsen Ourmouzov, photographer and editors Sahil Lulla and Sonya Moorjani to aggravate the suspense and journey of our protagonist.
Wabu introduces the horrors of police work by using written words and written words and actions that rely on viscera and violence.
Casting is the king
Bryna Weiss sold the mentally damaged protagonist with obvious ease. We never saw the wheels working behind Weiss. Pell is very developed here and very real. Optillus It is a solid 4.75 effort. The loss of .25 stars was due to conversations between Detective Sergeant during the briefing. At one point, most obvious in the car description scenario, the dialogue clearly changes and cycles. This really ruins the moment.
