At the end of the day, or the end of the quarter chimpanzee crazywe see that Tonya is not that delusional. This last look at an “American” tragedy leaves many questions unanswered. First, let’s take a look at what this show is about.
Travis
For Sandy, Travis’ story isn’t over yet. We won’t mention the juggling going on in Charla Nash’s life. Except for this observation. *note movies No Gordy’s victim, Mary Jo, was wearing the exact same outfit. Down to the veiled hat:
This takes some courage. Jordan Peele didn’t just hint at this tragic event, he passed us by.
However, Sandy bought another chimpanzee. Purchase in partnership. Her partner? Pamela Russell.
tonka bean
Authorities placed Tonka in a shelter. According to the Los Angeles Times, he often made the sound of a monkey whooping. Just as he should be. Tonka should not live in a small space. Where Tonya hides her pets from the prying eyes of PETA and the courts.
Thangka is somehow reunited with Alan Cumming. Allen is glad his old showbiz partner isn’t dead after all. By all accounts, Mr. Cumming was a good man. I had read about the character Allen wanted to play in Eyes Wide Shut. He won easily, came across as more genuine from the start and had worked with Nicole in the West End.
I still wouldn’t mind losing that.
dilapidated
Tonya learned that “The Director” had turned her in. Tiger King’s Eric Goode meets Tonya for the Water Festival. The woman is still in a state of delusion. She also didn’t know why what she was doing was wrong.
Most importantly, her chimpanzees and other animals as commodities allowed her to live a good life. Sell the baby and make some impressive long greens.
After all, they are all in the entertainment industry
The entire season is best summed up as show business. Alan Cumming catches up with Thangka. It was all filmed and the actors looked uncomfortable. The most telling thing is the “set” that was carefully dismantled 39 minutes into the show after Tonya and Eric’s interview.
There was no talk of punitive measures against Haddix. PETA’s attorneys spoke about the waived fines, including a brief mention.
There is no talk of fines or jail terms here. Tonya not only lied when she was not in court, but she lied in front of the judge. At least she should be looked down upon. No police time or resources were wasted at all.
the end of everything
at the end of it all chimpanzee crazy A brief montage of disappearing chimpanzees is shown. These “apes” were either executed due to extreme prejudice or died of natural causes. “Adopting” wild animals has not yet been banned. No one is saying this will become illegal. Now, or later.
If we need a reminder of why this practice is a bad thing, read the Daily Mail article about Nash.
chimpanzee crazy Not really a meaningful perspective for these monkey owners. This is a strange phenomenon. Some kind of freak show. We had a chance to point our fingers while we gagged and snickered. Meanwhile, we see a four-episode-long PETA commercial.
What a waste.
Fantasy Island indeed.
