Directed by NM Talent’s Mark Castle, the new campaign captures the enduring spirit of Marbella’s Don Carlos Hotel through intimate, sun-soaked moments
NM Productions partnered directly with Don Carlos Hotel to produce a new brand film, directed by NM Talent’s Mark Castle, with Oliver White Smith as DOP and Toby Mitchell shooting stills alongside.
The production set out to capture the hotel as it moves into its next chapter, an icon of Marbella built on genuine hospitality rather than staged luxury. Don Carlos has been part of the town’s story since Marbella’s early days as a holiday destination, and the brief was to give that legacy back to its guests rather than reinvent it.
The crew chased golden hour across the grounds over several days, from mosaic tiled pools to the clay courts at the Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre, catching the quiet moments in between too, a cocktail poolside, the light through the palms. It’s a hotel with plenty to work with, and Mark, Oliver and Toby knew exactly which moments to hold onto.
The film adds to a growing list of hospitality projects for NM, with more of the company’s recent work expected to land in the coming months.
“For me, it was really about capturing the feeling of Don Carlos. Having a small crew meant we could be nimble, chase the light and let things happen naturally. The client was incredibly open and collaborative, so the entire shoot felt very fluid and instinctive.” said NM Talent, creative director and director, Mark Castle.
