ABC has announced its midseason lineup, including the highly anticipated rookie and Will Trent’s return date, as well as the premiere of new Tim Allen/Kat Dennings sitcom Gears reflect.
Season 2s of “Home Edition” and “Murder in the Building” will air in limited time on Thursday, while “9-1-1,” “Doctor Odyssey” and “Grey’s Anatomy” will air on Nov. 21 It will take a break after the fall finale and return on March 6.
“The Rookie” and “Will Trent” have been off the air since May 21 and will return with 18 episodes in January, almost non-stop. “The Rookie and Will Trent are two cornerstones of our schedule,” said Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich.
The Conners will bid farewell to the series starting in March.
The Rookie and Will Trent have been off the air since May 21, but when they return, it will be an 18-episode season that will run virtually non-stop (except for a possible presidential speech, we hear).
“Rookie and Will Trent are two cornerstones of our schedule,” Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich told TVLine of the decision to keep both players midway through the season. “It feels like the best way for these shows to be successful is to launch them in January, when we have this huge promotional platform on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve as well as college sports and Christmas programming.”
