After more than fifty years in the music industry, touring life is starting to take its toll on Sammy Hagar, and the rock veteran admits he no longer wants to tour with his music.

77-year-old Hagar admitted in an interview miami herald Before a recent guest appearance at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, he expressed disdain for the grueling nature of the touring cycle.
“I think I don’t want to tour anymore. I don’t want to say that because I don’t want to piss off my fans,” Hagar explained. “I’ll go out and do a one-off show or something like that, but the residency will be a great extension of my career. That’s what I’m hoping for.
The Red Rocker’s comments come just months after his The Best of All Worlds tour, which saw him perform in the United States, Canada and Japan. Even so, a slew of birthday celebration performances in Mexico and Las Vegas followed, with Hagar set to perform multiple shows in 2025, including his The Best of All Worlds Touring Residency.
As Hagar explains, residencies and similar events best satisfy his desire to continue growing in the live music world.
“With this, I don’t have to travel and unpack, pack, and get on a plane every day,” he continued. “You know, at my age, it hurts my shoulder to do all this. And I have to perform. At the end of the day, I’m a performer.
“I kept telling my managers, ‘Don’t do any tours, let me do this residency,'” Hagar added. “If I like it enough, I’ll do it again. If it’s successful, I’ll do it again and it will give me a few more years in my career.
Hagar last released a studio album in 2022, releasing crazy times and his band The Circle. The album also featured a series of North American tours, although this remains their last major tour to date.
