One of the unique visual effects elements involved the use of puppets to bring the aliens to life in multiple scenes. The puppet is capable of complex, realistic movements, blending the alien’s disturbing, agile behavior with the dark, claustrophobic environment of the prison.

Alien 3 Follow Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) after she escaped from LV-426, she crash-landed on a desolate prison planet populated by ex-criminals and religious fanatics.
As Ripley comes to terms with the harsh realities of prison, she discovers that an alien species survived the crash. Isolated from the outside world, the prisoners and Ripley face off against aliens in a harsh industrial environment with little chance of escape.
