In the past 12 months, advertising billboardThe Latin Artists on the Rise series features a select group of artists who have broken through within and beyond their genres, achieved significant chart success and/or created a buzz that cannot be ignored.
This series of features captures artists on the verge of stardom – just like how we captured Peso Pluma in March 2023, just as he was about to explode globally – and this year is no different.
Regional Mexican pop star Xavi is the first Latin rising star of 2024, and it’s safe to say he’s had a phenomenal year. The Mexican-American singer-songwriter was named New Artist of the Year at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards and has released a debut album Next October and won first place advertising billboardList of New Latin Artists for 2024.
Colombian artist Ela Taubert has been named November’s Latin Rising Artist in recognition of her major win at the Latin Grammy Awards, where she won Best New Artist. The Bogotá-born singer-songwriter has launched her career singing covers, including Adele’s “Don’t You Remember,” which went viral on TikTok. Taubert subsequently became a first-generation alumnus of Universal Latin Music’s Abbey Road Academy and School of the Arts.
Other artists in this year’s Latin Artists Rising Stars series include Tito Double P, Codiciado, Luis Alfonso and most recently Christian Alicea.
