The American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special will premiere on Sunday (October 6). The two-hour special, which will feature performances from Mariah Carey, Stray Kids and more, will air on CBS and live on Paramount+.

Where to watch the 2024 AMA special
The American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special will air on Sunday, October 6 at 8pm ET/5pm PT on CBS and CBS.com. If you have cable TV (or a digital TV antenna from Amazon), you can watch the AMA special on DirectTV Stream, fuboTV, SlingTV and Paramount+ with Showtime through your local CBS affiliate.

How to watch AMA online for free
If you cut the cable cord, you can still stream the American Music Awards anniversary special using SlingTV, fuboTV, DirectTV Stream or Hulu + Live TV. Most of these services offer free trials, allowing you to watch AMA specials and streaming performances online for free.
For those without cable TV, CBS can be watched online through Paramount+. Who is performing at the AMAs 50th Anniversary Special?
Kelly will perform a medley of the following songs: The Liberation of Mimi To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the album’s release. According to Paramount, Stray Kids will perform a special show “honoring the boy band’s legacy.” RAYE will perform James Brown’s classic “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World,” Knight will perform “Midnight Train to Georgia,” and Hudson will pay tribute to Whitney Houston. Brad Paisley will pay tribute to the late Charley Pride, winner of the inaugural American Music Awards (AMA) Male Country Vocalist and Country Album Award, and perform new single “Truck Still Works” .
Green Day will perform their latest hit “Dilemma.”
The anniversary special will feature special appearances by AJ McLean, Cedric the Entertainer, Kate Hudson, Lance Bass, Reba McEntire, Samuel L. Jackson and Smokey Robinson.
