FX is developing a new series based on the life of notorious gangster Salvatore “Sammy the Bull” Gravano, which is being developed by Antoine Fuqua (training day) and Terrence Winter (The Sopranos). The series is titled bull sammy.
Gravano is “an official member of the Gambino family, one of the five New York Mafia families. He allegedly began his career in organized crime in the 1960s and was involved in racketeering, hijacking, theft and murder.” .
“He later became close to John Gotti, the future boss of the Gambino family, and collaborated with Gotti to kill Paul Castellano, the boss of the Gambino family at the time.
“Gravano rose to the rank of second-in-command under Gotti, but then became a government witness in 1991. With his testimony against Gotti and others in the Gambino family, he became the highest-ranking Mafioso ever to cooperate with the federal government. one of the members.
It sounds like it’s going to be a great show, especially with the talent being brought in while developing the show. Winter will write the series and Fuqua will direct.
Peter Maas has a great book about Gravano’s life called Underboss. He has also given numerous interviews about his life in the Mafia and currently runs his own YouTube channel.
