Lord of the Rings writer and producer Philippa Bones Currently developing the next one to JRR Tolkienof Middle-earth, The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.
Fans are excited about the possibility of seeing characters from the original Lord of the Rings The trilogy returns. We already know there is a character Ian McKellenGandalf in the movie, but now Bones has revealed they wanted it too Viggo Mortensen Come back and play Aragorn.
In a recent interview with The Playlist, she shared that Aragorn plays a major role in Gollum!
When asked if he would come back, she said: “Honestly, it all depends on Viggo cooperating and we’re in the very early stages. I’ve spoken to Viggo and Andy [Serkis] Already talked to him, Peter [Jackson] Talked to him, we all talked, and honestly, I can’t imagine anyone else playing Aragorn, but it would be entirely up to Viggo.
Well, hopefully he will come back! It would be great if Mortensen played Aragorn again after all these years! It’s great to hear that so far they are communicating with each other and trying to make it work.
She continued: “I know Andy wants to work with him, but we don’t think it’s using artificial intelligence either. [technology]it’s about digital makeup, and whether Viggo does it all depends on how good the script is.
“And he doesn’t have a script yet. So, to be fair, let’s see if we write a good enough character and he can find enough in it to justify this being the show he wants to play. After that, it will be up to Viggo and Andy decide how to make this happen.
If Mortensen decides not to return, Bones said, “We still want him to be deeply involved in, for example, how we transition the role. But realistically, that decision is still months away.”
“He had to read the script first, which is exactly what I’m going to do at the end of this interview [laughs]”.
Mortensen previously said he was open to returning to the role, discussing it and saying, “I haven’t read the script yet. So I don’t know. The script is the most important thing to me, and unless I’m broke, I No money, but lucky to have a job, so it depends.
The actor added: “I love playing this character. I’ve learned a lot playing this character. I love it. I would only do it if I was fit to do it, you know, the age I am now and all that.” I would only do it if I fit the role otherwise it would be stupid.
Bones shared some details of the story and promised Hunting Gollum This will be a gripping story which says:
“This is a pretty intense story that takes place after Bilbo’s birthday party and before the Mines of Moria. It’s an incredible untold story, told through the eyes of this incredible creature. Let’s tell.
Peter Jackson is producing the film with his partners Fran Walsh and Philippa Bones who will co-write the script Phoebe Gittins and Artie Papagio.
