Are you ready to return to Salem Lot? Premiere date and trailer just released!

Much to the chagrin of many Stephen King fans, Salem’s Land , the latest film based on the horror master’s 1975 bestseller, will bypass theaters and premiere on the Max.

Therefore, we will be deprived of the big screen experience and it will be difficult for non-subscribers to watch the film.

    This is bad news.

The good news is that early chatter about the project is promising, and a new trailer released today promises a heart-warming experience.

To the familiar tune of Gordon Lightfoot’s “Sunset,” author Ben Mills (Lewis Pullman) “returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem to find inspiration for his next book, only to find that Discovers that his hometown is being pillaged by a bloodthirsty vampire.

The film also stars Alfre Woodard, Mackenzie Lee, Bill Camp and William Sadler.

As you may have gathered from the synopsis, this is the king at his most regal.

For fans of literary giants, Maine’s writers confronting supernatural forces beyond comprehension may be familiar territory.

But the author may have never explored this territory as effectively as in his favorite novel of all books.

This story has already been adapted for the screen once.

However, the 1979 CBS miniseries is unlikely to scare many modern viewers.

Don’t get us wrong—if you’re a King perfectionist, this is a solid effort worth pursuing.

But iconic director Tobe Hooper (“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” “Poltergeist”) was severely limited by the broadcast standards of the time.

Sources tell us director Gary Dauberman ( Annabelle Comes Home ) won’t be pulling any punches with the new version.

The movie is set to premiere on Max on October 3 — just in time for horror season.

Due to the novel’s continued popularity, the film will have the benefit of a built-in audience.

Over to you, TV fanatics. Are you excited for the latest contribution to Stephen King’s vast library of films?

Or do you think this vampire story is a little too long?
