If you need proof that sometimes the greatest blessings show up at our doorstep disguised as curses, look no further than the life of Ariana Maddix:
Last year, the “Vanderpump Rules” star discovered that her then-boyfriend Tom Sandoval was cheating on her with one of her best friends.
But the resulting “Scandoval” became a shot in the arm for Ariana’s career.
She has now successfully made the difficult transition from reality star to legitimate actress, singer and presenter.
Earlier this year, Maddix starred in Broadway’s “Chicago.” Since then, she has landed gigs on Dancing with the Stars and Love Island USA.
Now, she’s taken her TV legitimacy to a new level with her role on ABC’s Will Trent.
According to a new report from Variety , Maddix will play himself in the third season of the beloved procedural drama.
But it’s not just celebrity cameos.
In this episode, Ariana visits Trent’s hometown of Atlanta to host an intervention for an old friend.
She hired detectives. Ormwood (Jack McLaughlin) is in charge of security for the event—we assume things go awry and one of the guests leaves in a body bag.
A premiere date for Ariana vs. Will Trent has yet to be announced, but since it hasn’t been filmed yet, we’re guessing it won’t be the first episode.
If you’re one of the many fans who missed out on Atlanta’s best-dressed detective this fall, don’t worry.
Will Trent will return to ABC as a mid-season replacement. After a strike-shortened second season, fans can look forward to full episodes.
In addition to Madix, the cast of the show’s third season also includes Gina Rodriguez.
We’re still a little annoyed that we were forced to wait until mid-season, but we’re most thankful that this charming and innovative series will be back on our screens soon.
