Lil Baby debuts his upcoming album on Thursday (December 19), making a slew of headlines WHAM: Who works as hard as me?.
He recently sat down with Charlamagne Tha God to talk about his relationship with Gunna and being named on Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss track “Not Like Us,” in which the Compton MC raps: “When you need someone When the time comes, you run to Atlanta.”
Charlamagne brought up the topic by asking the Atlanta rapper if he was mentioned in the song, which effectively ended the fight. “I don’t really like that side of hip-hop,” Baby admits of the genre’s ritual of competing on wax figures for the top spot in the game. He then said he and Drake have a “great relationship,” before adding, “Like any situation: If you and he were arguing, why would you say [my name]?
He went on to say that he treats rap like a job. “I don’t want anything to do with it,” he said. “Not that everything that happened to them was untrue, but I feel like, for me, rapping and her — that’s my job. I don’t want that to happen at work.
