Bad Monkeys renewed for second season on Apple TV+
The show originally debuted on Apple’s streaming service in August and aired its season finale in October. The first season is based on the novel of the same name by Carl Hiasson. “Bad Monkey” has a sequel novel called “Razor Girl,” but the second season will not be based on that book, according to a person familiar with the production. Bill Lawrence created the TV series Bad Monkeys, starring Vince Vaughn.
In addition to Vaughn, Bad Monkeys Season 1 also stars L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, Michelle Monaghan, Ronald Peet and Jodie Turner-Smith, with special guest star John Ortiz and guest stars Zach Braff, Ashley Nicole Black, Scott Glenn and Charlotte Lawrence in her television debut.
In addition to creating the series, Lawrence serves as showrunner and executive producer on Bad Monkeys through Doozer Productions. In addition to starring, Vaughn also serves as an executive producer. Doozer’s Jeff Ingold and Lisa Katzer also serve as executive producers, along with Matt Tarses and Marcos Siega. Lawrence has an overall deal with Warner Bros. Television, which serves as the studio.
