In this week’s episode of Bad Monkeys, Rosa, Yancy, and Bonnie are on the run. They join Neville, who has been on the run for some time. The three also follow in the footsteps of Eve and Nick, who head to foreign shores after threatening his daughter.
Episode title is important
This week, the episode title of Bad Monkey suggests that these things matter. have the right That damn arm is back;It does what it says on the label. When Yancey needed the damn thing to unlock her phone, Nick’s arm “came back to life.”
Story: This week
Nick, with some not-so-gentle prodding from Eve, decides to move on from those pesky unresolved issues. That includes Yancey and, surprisingly, his child; Caitlin. True, Eve enthusiastically volunteers for the job of “inanimate” Nick’s daughter. However, he put up no fight to save his own flesh and blood.
Unlike Yancey, who Nick tried to kill in earnest, Caitlin survived. Yancey nearly died during an encounter with an armed man. But he did suffer a concussion from the blow to the back of his head.
Meanwhile, Neville narrowly avoids Ego after an ex-girlfriend turned him in. The two had to hide in Casa Campesino
Bonnie hurried to Yancy’s residence, only to find that he was missing, so she broke in.
Bit by bit
Kudos to Charlotte Lawrence for her hurt look when she told her dad and stepmom to “fuck off.”
Roberto Escobar also deserves praise as “Poppa” Campesino. He conveys so much information in such a short amount of screen time. Roberto plays his role to perfection. #nosmallparts.
Rosa continues to capture not only Yancy’s heart, but ours as well. This woman had made up her mind that she wanted law enforcement officers without badges. She also told Mendez where to put his. (Although not as talkative, she dominated every conversation they had.)
Bonnie
I have an admission. I’ve been in love with Michelle Monaghan’s acting abilities since Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang. She always impressed upon the jaded old man what a real show should be.
*Awkward fan moment over.
Bonnie is clearly in trouble, as are Yancey and Rosa. The three may join forces here. But, as the narrator, Captain Fitzpatrick, tells it, this is a story. Therefore, Neville and Yancey must work together as soon as possible. If for no other reason than to save the hapless Neville from Egg.
And the Dragon Queen.
This week’s verdict
bad monkey Still evokes the feeling of death and other details, damn the theme music and opening credits, but it’s definitely fun. Vince Vaughn has never been better. His acting style; all the improvisation and lack of acting “style” still works.
bad monkey airs on Apple TV+, with new episodes airing on Wednesdays.
